My 2022 warms acceptably, but i don't own any other vehicle with this feature in order to compare. "Warm" is a subjective concept. Im glad i live in southern Indiana where the winters are not very harsh. There have been several posts about Lexus owners being disappointed with their heated steering wheels. So, OP, you are not alone.

So my question is do the newer RX models warm up faster and get warmer or same as the older models?

Thanks!
I think it is unlikely there is much difference between model years of the same generation. My 2021 RX is about the same as our 2019 ES and a previous 2016 NX. That feature is pretty slow and mild, but it takes the chill off which is mostly what I’m after - so it is acceptable for me, but not great. Fair disclosure, please understand our cars are housed in a lightly heated garage so they are always at least 50 degrees when I get in them at home.

Interesting - my 2019 ES seats and wheel get toasty hot - too much so even on min value in Concierge settings. The 2017 RX on the other hand not so much.

I believe there is a setting that controls the heat level. I have never looked or fiddled with it because I just haven’t sensed a need. Perhaps your ES is set higher?

That's CONCIERGE which I don't think we have on the 17 RX but on the ES, it's set on the MIN setting and still gets hot as heck.
