Hi,

A few days ago I started hearing a creaking sound from the steering wheel. Similar sound of a door hinge when it's not lubricated. The sound is intermittent (not constant) and only during steering wheel movement. It's not loud but the sound but can be heard while radio is on.

Temperature in Toronto has recently dipped under 5°C (40°F).
Just over 8600KM on the vehicle.

Should I be concerned?
Anyone else have this experience?

No sounds this morning driving to work, it seems to happen randomly.

I beleive I had this problem on my 2010 RX and similar only when cold. It ended being a needing lubrication and loose wires. Those where all the details my SA provided, and never occurred for the other 4 years of ownership.

I had the same noise in my steering. I had the dealer check it and they lubed the steering boot. I have not heard the noise since they did that about 4 months ago.

I am hearing the same sound as well. I thought I was imagining things at first. It occurs even when car is not moving. Sounds like something is rubbing, reproducible when turning the wheel.

I took the vehicle to the shop and they "re-align the lower steering column."

I haven't heard the sound since but the sound only occurred when it was cold so I'll have to wait until the temperature drops in a couple of months.
