Hi, I believe that I got the steps out of the owner's manual, but it is very easy.
1. Open Glovebox (remove anything inside)
2. On the outside right side of the glovebox, you will see the black latch. Pull it to the right to unpop it from the glovebox.
The glovebox will now fall completely down and expose the back panel to the cabin air filter.
3. Remove the black panel cover. You can pull it out from the right side and it will pop out.
4. There is another smaller black panel cover and pull that out also.
5. You will see the cabin air filter folder and push up and pull out.
6. Pull out the old cabin air filter.
7. Look for the UP sign on the new cabin air filter. When you install the air filter into the holder, it need to point away from the holder.
In other words, it should be pointing towards you.
8. Slide the holder back where you removed it from and push down. "UP" word on the holder should be readable (not upside down).
9. Put back in the smaller black panel cover.
10. Put back the larger black panel cover.
11. Lift the glovebox up halfway. You will hear a click when doing this, but it is fine.
12. Push the latch on the outside right of the glovebox into the little point that sticks out of the glovebox.
13. Finally, close the glovebox. Open the glovebox again and if it doesn't fall all the way back down, then you installed the latch correctly.
(Let me know if you have any questions, and I will send you some pictures).
FYI.. As mentioned in my earlier post, I bought the filter that TomTom recommended and it successfully installed into the air filter holder, so success ! The link it here below : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbonized-...72.m2749.l2649
I just changed my cabin filter (ebay unit) & have a few things to add:
1. Use pliers to squeeze together the slotted 'bolt' on the right side damper arm (pull arm to the right when squeezing). If you just pull it, it will break.
2. At this point, the box will not fully open. Look at the top left & right and see the stop 'pegs'. Push left & right sides of the upper glove box towards the center to get them out of their tracks; box will fully open.
3. The 1st, larger door has 2 tabs at the bottom to remove.
4. The stock filter has a plastic cage around it. Remove the cage and install it on new filter.
At my 15K miles, I changed the oil, air and cabin filters with Fram TG9972, CA10755 and CF12157, respectively from Wal-Mart. Now that I am close to my 30k service, I can’t find the cabin filter CF12157, anywhere. Has anybody seen the cabin filter online somewhere?

hi tomtom74, do you know what the part number or link would be for the aFe Air Filter? I tried searching and can't seem to find the specific one for the RX350/RX450h

Yeap, I paid $53.10 on Amazon with free shipping over a year ago, but looks like price went up to $70.44 + shipping on amazon. Ebay has it for $57.95 + shipping. I can't find anything cheaper.

According to www.lexuspartsnow.com, the filter part is the same between the RX350 and RX450h. So I might just be in luck? Can anyone else confirm?

RX350 has a almost perfect square shape filter. I searched for you. RX450h had different part number. It's an aFe 31-10119 Pro Dry, but website picture showed same shape as RX350 filter so you might want to check with aFe.
In the picture OEM on left and aFe on right.
I hope this information will help you.

Thanks tomtom74! I will definately be calling aFe tomorrow to confirm for sure. Funny how their website doesn't list any filter part numbers for a 2016 RX450h. Will report back after I speak with them.
