when using the mirroring, all audio must be from your phone correct? Can't listen to say fm or a cd and see the phone screen on the car screen correct?

thanks much.
Sure thing, I'll post some feedback and photos this weekend

Default Fed up with Lexus Navigation System and other features

The Navigation system on the 2016 RX 450h is horrible.

It gives wrong directions, wrong information, does not mute audio when giving audio directions.

Today tried to take me in the opposite direction of my destination, and was giving non existent traffic and road closures.
This happens all the time.

Also when giving audible directions does not mute the CD player so you can not hear the directions.
Most cars I know mute the media audio when directions are being broadcast.

Also tried to call on phone but could not hit number prompts to route call, no dial pad on display.
How do you get a dial pad on the display to select number prompts?

And no one from Lexus seems to know anything about their products?????

Comparing to other high end vehicles very deficient.

How do you reset this system?

Is there an update?

Not a happy about this.

Please advise

Thanks

Too many problems. You need a dealer rep to help you.
That's why I didn't get the nav system. My $200 Garmin from Costco doesn't have those problems!

thats an in motion option that is greyed out. have to deal with it or install an in motion bypass

i have mine one time, business on a frontage road, say destination reached still flying down the highway. knew that wasn't correct, lol and it was more complicated than next exit and double back.
overall it works pretty well for me. also sync destinations to the car from your phone is nice. sometimes i use the destination assistant, since its free for me still.

I HATE it too! I subscribe to several car magazines. Virtually every review of Lexus models includes editor complaints about the horrible infotainment system. This is not a new complaint – it’s been this way for years! Is Lexus really this tone deaf? They have that beautiful wide display screen backed by a 3rd world system in a “luxury” car. Where is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay so we don’t have to endure that outdated navigation system and idiotic user interface with a spastic joy stick from the 1980s?

Last week my system completely lost its mind. It went blank while I was depending on it for navigation. None of the controls worked – not even the steering wheel audio buttons. I had to pull over, turn off the car then start again to reset the damn thing.

Any computer can freeze up from time to time. I've had the same thing happen with other cars. Reboot and be done with it. This is my first Lexus and I'm quite pleased with it. I'm beginning to wonder though what others expect of this brand.

Just because some computer systems crash, that doesn't excuse this one. It should be reliable all the time - just like the rest of the automobile which, BTW, I am also very satisfied with. In fairness, the infotainment system has only crashed on me once in 6 months of ownership. I don't consider that a major problem but it still shouldn't have crashed any more than the engine electronics - they shouldn't fail occasionally.

Users are mostly not complaining about the car - just the horrible Infotainment system user interface and lack of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support so we don't have to use outdated Lexus Navigation maps.

They all can crash at times. You want perfection that doesn't exist anywhere.

Very perceptive!

It seems like one every three Chipotles my wife and I eat at give us a rush to the bathroom quickly after!

Something is still very wrong with Chipotle process.

I have never ever had any issue with other fast foods such as Carl Jr's, Rubio, Chinese, Del tacos etc.

I'm wondering at what point car manufacturers are just going to belly up with Google on the GPS.

I'd go with....never. They don't have the depth of data required for GPS units. The two main players, TomTom and Here WeGo are spending mega dollars collecting data currently to enable self driving vehicles. Here WeGo is owned by Audi, BMW and MB (bought for 8 billion Euros in Dec 2015) so obviously the big Germans have put a lot of money into Here WeGo and will continue using their data as well as on selling to other manufacturers.
