Panoramic roof ticking/squeaking noise
Just picked up a 2017 RX350 AWD with the Panoramic Sunroof and have been noticing an intermittent ticking/squeaking sound that comes sometimes when going over rough pavement/bumps. Almost as if someone is tapping on the glass with their fingernail. The noise goes away when the sunroof is open, and when closed doesn't seem to make any sounds or flex when I press on the glass in different places so I'm thinking maybe it's something internal or perhaps the rubber seals. Has anyone else with the 4RX pano roof encountered this? Thanks

No sounds from my Pano roof. Likely the rubber seal moving against the glass when the frame flexes. Maybe a little Amour All on the rubber will stop the noise?

there is a black smooth rubber piece on all 4 parts of the moon roof when you are in the car looking up at it. Make sure you push it in all the way. I guess it comes loose with time? Mine were very loose and I had to push it in to make it nice and snug ( that's what she said)

Thanks for the replies. I will try doing that, and I have also purchased some gummi pflege to apply on all the roof rubber seals (read about it before). Hopefully that will cut down on all the noise. If all else fails, I'll bring it to the dealer and have them look at it.

I can hear a squeak every time going over speed bumps and uneven roads at slow speed, it sounds like its coming from rear right, I thought it could be the suspension. I'm bringing it up in the next oil change.

Slightly late, but I also had this problem. Living down here in Texas the roads aren't great in the suburbs and this caused my moon roof assembly to vibrate and that caused a similar rattling noise to what can be heard in the video in the earlier reply. I took it to a Lexus specialist, and he told me it was a common problem for the 2IS, as when the car gets rough rides it tends to loosen up the assembly. The guy was extremely nice and tightened the whole thing up for me free of charge and it's been about 6 months since I've heard that rattle.
Hope that helps!

Any luck with the pano roof ticking sound over bumps. My Lexus isn稚 doing it but I am starting to hear mine doing it on my Camry. It痴 definitely from the roof area just can稚 pin point it.

Moonroof clicking noise
Hi everyone, I just purchased a 2017 RX450h F Sport from CarMax and within 2 days the panoramic moonroof broke. When I try to open it it stops after a few inches and makes a continuous clicking sound, like when going up a rollercoaster. It also did it when I closed the moonroof back up. Luckily CarMax has a 90 day warranty and will repair it but I知 super concerned about their ability to do so. They diagnosed it today and said the brackets are broken and will need a whole new moonroof system. Has anyone ever had this happen? I知 super surprised that it happened on such a young vehicle. CarMax has a 30 day return policy and I知 wondering if I should return the vehicle or not. If they need to replace the track, I知 nervous about what all they値l need to take down and put back up, and if it値l stand the test of time after that. Would love and feedback on this, it痴 my first Lexus. Thank you!
