Has the dealer said they can't adjust it? I have a '17 BMW with HUD and you can set the height and rotation via their console controller. The rotation setting is to adjust if you wear polarized lenses and the HUD is not clearly visible. I would think Lexus has some way to deal with it, although a dealer trip is not ideal for something as typical as sunglasses.

Will visit the dealer for the one month inspection in 4 weeks from now, will ask then. Went thru all system menus and manual *****, and there is no user adjustment for horizontal (nor rotation) alignment, just a button for manual vertical (up and down) adjustment

In the manual:
The head-up display may seem dark or hard to see when viewed through sunglasses,
especially polarized sunglasses.
Adjust the brightness of the head-up display or remove your sunglasses.

I guess the sunglasses holder is there so you have someplace to store them

In a normal driving position, the speed indicator is cut off. To see the speed one has to sit to the left, very awkward. Lexus must correct this.
With my 18 RX350L, the left side of the display (compass) is visible with my right eye, but not the left eye. That's with the seat fully back, which is where I have it for driving.

Yes, it's annoying and needs a fix.
