Going to replace front and rear pads and rotors. Going with EBC drilled and slotted rotors and can't decide between yellow or green pads any input? Also the site that I was going to order them gives an option of vented or solid rotors? From the reading I've done online if your vehicle comes with solid rotors you should stick with that and vise versa. I'm not sure which one these rigs have from the factory so not sure which package to get. Than

Pretty sure that the front brake rotors are vented and the rears are not. Both front and rear are solid and not slotted.
I personally would not go with slotted since my braking is fine and no need to eat the pads. I will probably use OEM when the time comes on this vehicle.
I spoke to a Lexus dealer in Smyrna Georgia (suburb of Atlanta) and the service consultant told me that for my 2017 RX350 the brakes are only good for 20-25K miles. While that seems to be in line with my experience, that is totally ridiculous that brakes would only last that long. Has anyone else been told such nonsense? If this is true, it's just one more reason I will never buy a Lexus again.
Is Street racing very common in that area? My experience with Toyota SUV brakes is 50-65K miles ( 80-100K km), depending on how the car is driven. I changed my RX brakes around 55K miles and they still had at least 3 mm left on them.

If a brake job is needed, my recommendation would be Centric premium vented solid rotors with EBC green stuff. In my opinion, if your vehicle didn't have slotted or drilled rotors in the OEM configuration, I would stick with smooth rotors. I have tried slotted rotors in the past and will never do that again - the whining sound drove me nuts. If you have a few extra bucks and are concerned about performance / fade, go with Yellow Stuff pads (which I have also used on a higher performance vehicle). Both these combinations will out perform the OEM brake performance in smoothness and stopping power. I have used this combination on a number of vehicles in the past and even my wife (who is mechanically clueless and I don't hold that against her - she has her own better skill set which I appreciate) noticed the difference. Other people have had good luck with other after market higher quality rotors and pads as noted elsewhere in this forum. So, do a little research, pick higher quality aftermarket rotors and pads and you will be rewarded with a noticeably better braking experience. The only thing I'm dreading is dealing with the electric parking brake when it's time, but there is plenty of info on how to deal with that on this forum.
I'm going to digress a little to talk about brake life and vibration. In my opinion, brake life is all about the details. I own a 17 f-sport and have 56k miles on original brakes. I also regularly get at least 45-50k miles on brakes on my other vehicles including ones I drive aggressively. So, I call BS on service advisors saying brakes are only good for 25-30k miles (not withstanding tracking or other abuse). These advisors are out for sales. At 50K miles on my RX, the front pads were at 6mm and rears at 8. Several times, I experienced vibration after a Discount Tire rotation. I found that the lug nuts were not all torqued to spec. After retorqing, no vibration. So, If anyone is having vibration problems and your pads are still not worn (I think the limit is greater than 3mm remaining pad material), the 1st thing I would do is retorque all the lug nuts to the factory spec - I think it's 81 'lbs, but check your manual. Get them reasonably close to the same torque. Once that is done, if there is still vibration, then do the bedding in process noted in the Centric paper a few posts back. It's highly probable, that this will fix any vibration problem. If the vibration returns in a while, try a couple / few quick bed in braking stops and this should scrape pad materials of the rotors and things will be smooth again.
Thanks to all the folks who regularly post about various topics helping us all get the most enjoyment out of our vehicle. Also, I have no skin in the game with either Centric or EBC.

The 2016+ RX was the first RX to get vented rear rotors standard on all models. Previous models were 100% solid except the 2010-2012 RX450h in Europe which had them as an option too. That's what I have on on my 2008 RX350, the calipers at least, the rotors are from an 06-13 IS350 to retain the factory parking brake.
For rotors, I've had good luck with Centric Premiums and OEMs are alright too. The OEMs (Advics) and aftermarket Advics only have a coating on the front instead of behind the inside of the hat. The Centrics have the coating all the way around and it is more robust as well. However, for me OEM rotors are cheaper so I'm giving them another chance on my 08 RX. For pads, I like the Akebono ProACT and Raybestos EHT pads, they feel similar but the EHTs are significantly cheaper and are GG rated instead of FF rated for the Akebonos. Great feeling pads that have a lot of modulation, and will bite hard if you demand it from them. We'll see how these EHTs hold up. The Akebonos are on my 2002 Highlander and 2014 RX and are wearing very well. I tried Akebono OEM pads and took them off within a few weeks, horrible bite and unlike the OE rotors they were overprioced and felt weak despite being made by Akebono as well. To add insult to injury they were also only EE rated.

I used Brembos for RAV4 and I'm very impressed sofar.
Wow, just reading some of the brake life on here, there are a lot of hard drivers around. My 2016 F Sport has 120,000 kms and the pads "may" need replacing next service so says the dealer.
