How to remove tonneau cover
#2
Moved to the correct forum.
The tonneau cargo cover can be removed by pulling up the back 'bar,' for lack of a better word, from the side. IIRC, it released it from the left side first. Then the other side will come up. There might also be a release button

Unlike the 2015 and earlier RX's that had a small top side slider that you moved toward
the front of the car to release, the 2016 and later RX's have a simple spring loaded cap
on each end of the cargo cover. Grasp the cap and pull away from the side wall and it
will drop away from the wall socket. To reinstall just place one end into a wall socket and
pull the free end cap to shorten the bar enough to position the cap into the far side socket.
Let it snap out to secure.
Have you all found the two grocery bag hooks that fold out of the side panels about a foot
behind the cargo cover sockets yet?

To those who cannot find a place to stow the tonneau cover bar; After following the advice given to me by Mcomer I was able to stow it just behind the back seats, it fits nicely and doesn't effect volume.

Glad to help. Other storage tips and tricks...open the center console and lift the
entire insert out (remove any USB/minijack wires first). Now you can stash the
owner's manual portfolio at the bottom and replace the storage insert. Note the
label to remind you where you put to #$%^ book when you need it. Creates enough
room in the glove box for more than just gloves!
Lift the rear area floor panel exposing the spare tire. On the far right side you can
lift the remaining small panel to access a minor secret hiding spot.
Press the hatch edge button while the hatch is closing at a height lower than fully
opened. Now press and hold the same hatch edge button until it chirps to memorize
this as the new normal opening. Nice if the fully opened hatch strikes the garage door
and/or so petite folks can reach the button in the future. Manually push the door upward
and re-set the height higher so I don't smack my head when I approach...
