Hey how do you like your G70? I almost bought one a few years back but the rear seat seems a bit too small. Beautiful car though.

Does anyone know the proper thickness of a good rotor? I have not seen any numbers here. Is it 30mm? 70mm? 100mm? The local mechanic will always tell you to replace the rotors so they can make an extra buck but they can not explain why your rotors are worn or broken or defective.

I can't remember the min thickness, but if memory serves the $$$ difference between turning & buying New isn't that much.

They're actually not that expensive to replace once you're doing a brake job. Turning them is certainly an inferior approach. I'd rather not turn them if they're not causing any issues. But replace is best.

Replacing is always the best way as long as you are getting a superior part. But how do you know?

Google? 🤔🤔 I had the rotors replaced on my wife's RX by the dealer but honestly not sure what parts they even use.

Default 2021 RX350 with pulsating brakes??

Hello all,
I have a 2021 Lexus RX350 F-Sport, I have just turned 16,000 miles and I have noticed at higher speeds I will get a pulsating sensation thru the brake pedal when applying. Funny thing is sometimes its there and other times it is not. Surprised I have this issue at just 16,000 miles anyone have any thoughts on what I should do and what the cause might be. Do I need new rotors??

You need to go to a dealer or repair shop and have the brakes inspected.

@G6612 this could be your brake rotors being warped. If thats the case both brake rotors and brake pads needs to be replaced. Some say get the brake rotors resurfaced but the problem may come back and its best to just replace brake rotors.

Fortunately your still under warranty. Definitely bring it in. Hopefully, when the Lexus mechanic test drives the car the brake pedal will pulsate. Also, poorly lubricated pins on the caliper can cause problems.

I replaced rotors at 12k miles. Everyone I know with RX/Highlander has this issue. Original rotors are horrid, don't buy them. I bought Acebono rotors and the problem went away entirely and I currently have 47k miles without any issues whatsoever.

This generation is known for this. I’m not impressed by the OEM rotors that they’ve included with the vehicle.

Why am I not surprised to hear this. In comparison reviews of vehicles in their class, the RXs brake performance, like stopping distance, is mediocre at best. Overall I'm pleased with my 2022 RX350 Sport, but the brake system performance is underwhelming. And now i hear that the oem rotors warp.

I have found on my 2022 RX, the caliper pins were dry from factory. Dry pins will cause uneven wear on pads and cause rotors to warp.
