i think it still does something "funny"
i remember reading/seeing a bulletin for the NX where there is a sequence to release the e-brake with a tool or manually.

i just assumed lexus uses the same/similar tech between its vehicles.

It was this PDF.. or something similar that i was reading.

I think that's only for Audi or VW? On the RX, you should be able to turn off the auto parking brake by holding down the parking brake switch until the "auto" light turns off. It's on pg 238 in the owners manual. Let me know if that's not what you needed. There's a "service" section in the app that I didn't even look at yet, so there might be something in there. I'm pretty sure carista doesn't have any service functions for the RX though.

Ha! I replied at the same time! I'll check the service section of the app later. I'll let you know if it's in there.

thank you for checking the app.

so there isn't a need for any special tools (mechanical or electronic) to service the rear brakes... just simply turn off the "auto e-brake"

^it was meant to be a question - i guess time will tell after ppl drive enough miles and need to service the rear brakes...

No prob! So are you asking, or have you confirmed that no special tools are needed? I'd like to know too.

Anyone know what the "Engine Start Indicator" does? I've switched it on and off but it doesn't seem to do anything? I have an FSport, but does the base model have some kind of light that comes on when the car is on?

Could it be related to the 450h? When you push the start button a green READY light comes on to let you know you can go...a few secs before the ICE starts.

The A/C ECO mode refers to the default on the S-Flow button?

Default Hmm

What does this mean? : Close windows and sunroof by holding key in door lock

I ask, because I turned on all of these options hoping I could open and close everything via the FOB and I can only successfully open everything.

THanks!

You can't close with the fob. You have to use the key method, or the usual way from inside the car.

(You need to put the key in the door and turn and hold it.)

So per the Carista website, the adapter is $20, and comes with a free month of the app to change the settings and everything. Do you have to leave the adapter plugged in, or do you take it out once you change the settings? Is there any reason you would need more than 1 month of service with this thing? Once I change the settings I feel like I'd be done with it.
