This all seems unbelievably and unnecessarily complex. Trying to automate what a thinking human begin can easily do can sometimes turn into a programming nightmare which seems to have happened here.

And very poorly explained.

Did you operate a teletype back in the day? I haven't seen TYVM since the 70's. Thanks! Oh, I mean TUVM (TYVM). Ray A.

After reading about S-Flow in the manual (3 times) I still have 2 questions and hopefully someone has an answer. I do not use S-Flow or Auto and I always want air to the back of the car. 50% (approximately) of the time when I start my car the S-Flow system comes on and I just shut it off.
Now, my questions are why does it only come on 50% of the time?? and is there a way to prevent it from coming at all??

I don’t know the answer to why it comes on half of the time, but to disable S-Flow I bought Carista and made that permanent change, among other customizations.

I do wish there was an option to turn off auto engagement of S-flow though.
Not true, I often open a rear door 1st and the s flow is either on or off depending on how I select it with the buttons.
Crazy system!

Carista sounds good, I know what it does just not how it does it and whether it is a pain to set up or not, I'm sure I can find out those answers online. At moment, I can't think of anything else I'd like to change but I do like to tinker with settings.

Thought, what if the back seats are down, probably not, I only put them up when the grandkids are over. I do open the hatch a lot, but I doubt if that has any effect.

There is one small benefit to S-Flow, the sound of the fan at any speed setting is lower, however if I want to cool/heat the car faster I make sure that the S-Flow is off.

Default 2020 Rear Air Flow

How the heck do I get A/C air flow to rear passengers? The S-Flow thingie that was quirky enough on
mt old ‘17 is gone from the 2020.

Only a suggestion, I can't find it in the owner's manual anymore. Have someone (adult) sit in the 2d row and see if that activates the 2d row A/C? I found lots of info for the "L" model but none for the 2d row of the non "L" model. Good luck.

I found it buried deep within the soft screen menu. What bone-headed person thought of this? There actually IS S-Flow but it doesn’t have the hard switch and indicator that my old ‘17 had.

Default 2021 RX350 Rear A/C Console Vent

My wife likes to have the front console vent shoot cool air into the back seat while she is driving alone. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not, no changes to the climate control. Any suggestions? We will check with the dealer as time permits. Ray A.

On the A/C climate control page. You can cycle through where you want the A/C to go. There's Driver only, Front people only. And all 3 areas.

RXWes - Thank you for the video. I think the key statement is "If the front climate control is in auto, the rear fan speed is adjusted based on the preset temperature". This would account for the rear fan speed varying. BTW, we don't have the rear seat center console buttons as shown in the video. I will check lexusdrivers.com for more info. Thanks again. Ray A.
