I too, owned a 2004 Lexus 330 RX. This was the first thing I mentioned when test driving the 2017 RX 350. I felt I was limited when looking back ... due to the headrest. Of course, I always looked back when changing lanes in my 330, because mine had a bad blind spot. Don't get me wrong, I Absolutely Loved my RX 330, but unfortunately knew I had too many miles on it, to call it dependable.

I did purchase the 2017 RX 350 W/Luxury package. The Lane Assist definitely helps, but out of habit, I still look over my shoulder. It's growing on me .... I know, I'll eventually get use to the higher headrest.

I'm very Pleased with my choice and Certainly Appreciate all the Guidance this forum provided me in trying to decide between the Luxury or Premium package.

Default RX headrest

Is it possible to order an older model headrest(2012-2015) to replace my RX 350 2017 headrest? It hurts my neck.
Are the front seat headrests interchangeable with any year made? The back seat headrest would work but wouldnt fit.
Thanks

I had the same problem, all I did was to recline the back of the seat a little, and now all is okay.

On all my cars I pull out the front headrests and reposition them, so the back points to the front. All this "whiplash-prevention" BS prompts me to lean my neck forward, which is very uncomfortable. My trick allows me to have a comfortable neck position.

But the headrests must look funny, don't they?

Actually not at all - both front seats look identically leaning towards the back.
I was more concerned with the quality/comfort of my seating position, so even if they were to look funny, I would still go for it.
How about you try it yourself - 2 min exercise - just lean a driver's seat almost flat, so you can pull the headrest fork out, reverse it and test-drive it.
