What fuel grade are you using in your RX350?

I recall, when considering my first Lexus, a 2015 RX350 F-Sport, the salesman promoting the "it only requires regular gas" as a valuable new feature. I never burned anything but 87 octane ((R+M)/2) in that one and it ran great until a lady turned her Volvo in front me when I was going 40 mph.
My 2018 exhibits the "hesitation" issue (other thread) which the Lexus dealer defines as a feature of the 8-speed transmission shift-point programming. That behavior is somewhat remediated with the higher octane gasolines. When I first figured that out, I went with Shell V-Power (93 octane), but that stuff is pricey. After running the V-Power for some months, I backed off to the Shell 89 octane a month ago, and I feel no difference in performance or the hesitation, so I'll run it this way for awhile. I tend to drive a little "sporty" at times, and expect brisk acceleration when I want it. There's a definite difference in that performance, going from 87 octane to 89 or 93. Costco has a 91 octane -- I may try that one too.
I stick with the Top Tier brands -- my research indicates the detergent spec is more than just a marketing ploy.

Costco has excellent gas, so no need for premium if you only require regular

I know about the debate of regular vs premium but enjoy the peace of mind of giving premium occasionally. I don't notice any knocks for regular/premium but feel like I get more miles with premium, might just be placebo

Yeah sorry forgot to mention that part. I get premium at Costco because the price is cheaper/similar to regular grade at shell/chevron.

What's in your owner's manual? Is it so hard to follow what it says?
I always drove cars needing premium high Octane gas according to the
manual. Period. I don't penny pinch on anything. At present I drive
a Mercedes GLC 63. Had Lexus 450h, Audi SQ5 before this car.
I always fill up with Shell Premium.

Just gassed up at Costco and they have changed the offering, at least here in Dayton, Ohio. They now offer two grades, 87 and 93 octane (R+M)/2. The 93 was $2.749. I don't know when they changed -- my first visit to their pumps in a month or two.

I agree, but would have to say that spending more than you need to, just because the manual says so, might be considered a waste of resources. I would not agree that buying a Lexus over a Kia is wasteful. It could be extravagant.
