I must admit, this is the first time I am reading about this. I have been to several Costco gas stations and never have I had to scan any membership card (I'm not a member!). I'll pay more attention when I go this week and maybe snap a few pictures. The more you know, thanks guys!

"New Jersey and Oregon remain the only states with laws restricting self-serve gasoline. In late March, Oregon made the practice optional in response to the outbreak, leaving the Garden State as the nation's lone holdout."

Wow, had no idea that they're states that doesn't allow you to pump your own gas.... pretty ridiculous imo.
There's still a couple of full service stations in Raleigh, NC that clean your windshield and check the oil if you ask, but it cost more per/gal at those pumps.
I prefer to do these tasks myself glad I'm not breaking any laws here.

Regular Gas on '21 RX350?
Hi everyone, first time Lexus owner. Our 2021 RX 350 F-Sport is arriving this weekend.
Question: Is everyone filling up your RX 350 with Regular gas? Is anyone opting for Premium gas, or is that just a waste of money?
If Regular gas is the only gas needed, we'll be happy to save the extra $$$. Just making sure we're not leaving any potential performance benefit with Premium gas.
Thanks!

I've said many times in this forum that that's a WARNING not to go below 87 octane, yet there are still people who say that the OM recommends 87 octane.

Is Costco gas Tier 1? Same quality as Shell/Mobile?

From the owner's manual for 2021 RX 350:
Everyone has an opinion on this. There are numerous threads here if you run a quick search that will discuss this ad nauseum. The general consensus seems to be that anything over the recommended octane rating is a waste of money. FWIW: on a somewhat related note, the 450h manual states "Select octane rating of 91 or higher however.

I use 87 and my vehicle has been running perfectly for me. The RX is an awesome vehicle but performance is relative. Mine has been performing excellent for a 4200 pound SUV running on 87. I have never noticed any lag or knocking or anything that would indicate that I need a higher octane gasoline.
I am also in CT and as you know the difference in cost is usually $0.50 - $1.00/gallon to move to a higher octane. It is not about the money ...if I thought that higher octane provided some benefit then I would use it, but using regular has been a welcome bonus with the RX. The difference in cost for most people is probably $400 per year depending on your commute. I would rather just keep the $400 to spend of something I want or need.
The main issue as mentioned above is using top tier fuel.
