Warranty on a Leased Lexus Vehicle? Can it start earlier than the lease date?
I just ran a CARFAX report on a specific car offered to me for lease. The carfax report states that it’s a new vehicle…however, the approximate start date of warranty shows as 1/17. So, even though it shows that the vehicle’s pre-delivery inspection took place this month and it only has a few miles, the months on the warranty have been running since January. The warranty will still cover the lease term, but is it normal?

I would ask the dealer. I suspect Carfax is wrong.

The warranty starts on the day your drive it off the lot, if new. Your wording " offered to me for lease" makes me think it was already registered and is classified as a used car. Or like Greg said...Carfax is wrong. I would be making sure that there is not any funny business going on there.

Could be that CarFax's date is when it arrived stateside and would change when purchased by the fist owner.
FastFord is right and you need to understand and get to the bottom of it with the dealer.
