Default Question on leather vs nuluxe on rx450h

I'm having difficulty figuring out if a rx450h without luxury package(i.e. No semianiline leather) still has leather interior or nuluxe. Lexus website seems to only specify rx350 as having nuluxe standard among rx variants. Any thoughts? Thanks!

"Standard equipment on the RX 350 includes NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstered seats" .....taken from some Lexus article. They did not mention what was on the 450H...

The RX350 comes with NuLuxe on the base model. Standard leather comes with the Premium Package, and semi-aniline leather comes with the Luxury Package. The RX450h comes with standard leather on the base model and with semi-aniline leather with the Luxury Package. So, in essence, the base RX450h is roughly the equivalent of the RX350 with the Premium Package.

@lesz, with regards to premium package leather, is it everything including trims or the trims are nuluxe?
thanks

I don't own an RX, but, if the RX is like other Lexus models, only the seating surfaces are leather. Other trim, including the sides of the seats, headrests, armrests, and door trim, are either NuLuxe or some other man-made material.

The NuLuxe is actually a very nice fake leather. It is actually softer than the standard Lexus leather, and it is about as soft as the semi-aniline leather that Lexus offers on with higher level packages.

I don't think that I'd have any issue with living with a vehicle with NuLuxe. My reason for choosing cars with higher packages is mainly that, unless you go with a higher level package, you can't get other desirable options. For example, with the ES, you can't get things like the driver's seat thigh extender, pano roof, ambient lighting, etc. as stand-alone options. Instead, they come only with the Ultra Luxury package with semi-aniline seating. If you could get those options on a stand-alone basis, I'd consider buying a car with the NuLuxe.

Most cars it's only the seating surfaces that's genuine leather. I agree with you - the synthetic materials are more durable than the real thing.

Thanks. This is great information. I was getting conflicting information from dealers. I was looking only at 450h so sounds like leather seating surfaces were in fact leather. The standard leather was plenty nice.

At the end of the day other features pulled me into luxury package territory with the semi aniline leather.

i guess mine came with leather (?) because on the window sticker it says
premium package includes: leather trim seats, power-folding outside mirrors, driver's seat/steering wheel/memory, aluminum roof rails

About the real leather seats that come on the Premium Package, do you guys found it comfortable? If you owned a GX470 or RX300, is the comfort and quality about the same as those older SUVs? I may have to consider this package so I can get the options that I want.
