>> Did the installer have to make modifications to bumper

I didn't make any modification to the bumper. I had to cut an under trim (with a utility knife) but you don't see the cut unless you are under the vehicle and look for it. Mine is an F-Sport; the "performance damper and stabilizer bar" had to be removed but I don't think there's any way around this.

>> does the Curt hitch rub the bumper?

It does rub the underside at the center of the bumper cover. In fact, the hitch lifts the center of bumper cover about, I'd say, 1/4 of an inch. But that doesn't bother me. Nothing will go anywhere.

>> Any pics you could provide would be helpful.

Picture uploaded.

>> Wow, 3 bikes inside the 450? I don’t like my bikes touching each other,...

Sometimes I carry all 3 of them in the trunk of a Honda Accord. I wrap the bikes in moving blankets (cheap from my local Harbor Freight) to keep social distances between them.

Agreed...not bothered by any rubbing that will be on that undersiding when I sell it, particularly since the receiver will go to the buyer. The bike rack is stable (not to mention the ratcheting pin Kuat builds into their racks) and the receiver does what I need it to do.

Wowza. Impressive.

Not sure I can get all our crap in my car when we go to Colorado next month. Is there a roof rack anyone might recommend?

I own one of these Thule racks, and It will fit any hitch with 2 in. receiver.

Default Bike Rack

What are you using as a bike rack (preferably rear rather than top) for your RX 450h? How do you like it?

Ok, I'm going to cheat a little on your question, since it's not yet in my possession. I'm on the waitlist to get a 1UP bike rack. My brother has one and loves it and uses it on his wife's '13 RX. It's very light weight aluminum. Their most popular rack is a available as a single, with an add-on capability for more bikes. It can also be purchased as a double with add-on capability. They are more expensive than those from Thule and Yakima, but worth it to me for the weight saving. Bike Racks – 1UP USA | OFFICIAL SITE (1up-usa.com)

Excellent choice for a hitch rack. I’ve got the Thule T2 Pro XTR and it’s heavy, and the way it clamps down on the front tire eliminates transporting an e-bike, or any bike, with a front fender.

I second the recommendation for 1Up. I'm very happy with mine.

I bought a Kuat NV 2.0 after getting my hitch installed. I like it very much and bought it based on reviews I read and recs by friends, though I imagine many others brands would similarly get the job done.

You can use trunk bike racks. This type of rack can be mounted on the trunk and offers a security system that uses straps to protect your bike. It does not require a hitch system or a trunk and is probably one of the most affordable bike racks. The trunk racks can carry up to 3 bikes depending on the models.

Yes. 1up or one of the copies that only touch the tires is the way to go. Especially for expensive carbon fiber.

Default Bike Rack that fits

I've been searching for a bike rack to mount on the rear of my RX450h.
I cant use a tow hitch because of the "kick to open" switch for the rear door.
Would prefer not to resort to a roof rack as it ruins the lines on the F-Sport!

Tried a Saris bones EX2 but there is no where to attach the side straps.
Thule does not offer one that is guaranteed to fit the RX model.

Anyone solved this problem?

I know this was a while ago, but for anyone else that reads this you can disable the kick sensor. That's what I did after installing my hitch. I had no interest in using the kick sensor anyway, but couldn't get a model without it.

Default What bike hitch for the 2016?

What bike/trailer hitch have forum members installed on the RX? I'm looking for a no-drill DIY variety and wondering how easy it was to install.
