Default Remote start app not working

I have read that the remote start & other options with the iphone app are not working. Has Lexus finally cleared the bugs in the app or updated it?

From what I can see they got the bugs worked out. The app was not the problem, I think it was the registration. Anyway the app works perfectly now. Well worth the trouble, I like the app for sure.

My app works for the most part but still can't remote start with the fob.

I seldom use remote start, in fact only once to test it and the fob started my LX up without an issue. Not sure about the RX but will give it a shot tomorrow.

I believe that you are correct in saying that, if there is a problem with Enform Remote since Lexus started using new software earlier in the year, it is likely a problem with the vehicle registration in the vehicle owner's Enform Remote account.

When I had a problem with the app not being able to connect to the car, I tried multiple things, including trying to re-register the vehicle and calling and emailing Enform Remote support. Eventually, I called the tech specialist at a Lexus dealer, and, after he used his contacts, the car was successfully registered to my account, and the app has been working fine since. Evidently, the car needs be re-registered on Lexus' end to fix the problem.

So, I would suggest that anyone who is still having an issue should contact the tech specialist at a Lexus dealer. By now, all of the tech specialists have dealt with the issue many times, and they should know exactly what they need to do to get things working properly again.

<br />I rarely use it as well but a bit annoying they don't make it simple like GM does thesse days. Right on the fob, no app, simplicity.

in my pre purchasing questions, the fob remote start is a dealer add on, i am not crazy about the subscription based remote start.

So the dealer needs to enable it for use with the FOB?

This is true if you don't have the remote start app.

But if you have the subscription, just press the lock button, press it again, then hold it the 3rd time until you see your hazards flash

Nope! It should work automatically as long as you have the subscription. YOu need to call the SOS button to enable the subscription though for everything.

you are confused i think, or i am
i have no desire to pay a subscription to start a car i own, thus i asked about using the FOB for the remote starting of the vehicle, not a phone. to use the FOB to start, the sales man informed me there was a piece of hardware needed,

haha. It seems confusing.

The hardware is there for the car but requires an active ENFORM remote subscription to use the PHONE AND the Remote FOB.

IF you don't have a subscription, you can't use the fob to start the car. If you want to start the car with the fob without a subscription, then yes, you would need a car starter kit.

I think it's really dumb. I also think it's dumb that now the enform subscription is free for 10 years for the 2018 models.

the added component i would imagine for the remote start, that uses the original fob, so not a separate one.
yep, 10 years now, not sure what a 17 comes with. for 64k i need an added piece not to have to pay a subscription, just to start from the fob, not good.(guessing its 1 way remote also. so no feedback)

My 2017 model came with 1 year subscription only. Since there is no re-design for 2018 model, I do not know why Lexus wants to **** off their existing customers.

(Update) I just checked, the 10-year is Safety Connect and Service Connect, which does not include Remote.
