Premium 12 speaker system
I have the 2017 Lexus RX 350 with the 12.3 navigation package and it is supposed to include a 12 speaker premium stereo system. For the life of me I can't find 2 of the speakers. There are 3 in the dash, 2 in the front doors, 4 in rear doors and a subwoofer in left wall of cargo area. Where are the other 2 speakers. Even the dealer couldn't figure it out. According to the diagram the additional 2 speakers should be somewhere in the cargo area but I can't find them.

That link makes the ML speakers count clear but the Premium (Pioneer) set up is different.
The top frame in the attached file is the Premium, the lower frame is the ML (2016 and 2017 are the same)
Note: the drawings denote locations not speakers, the three dash top locations each have two drivers.

Lexus often counts a speaker/tweeter combo as two speakers even if they are in the same location. That may explain your speaker total count or perhaps there are two mini tweeters located at the back of the center console.

Thanks for all the replies. The link to Mark Levinson clearly shows 15 speakers as you can hover over each location and in some of the speakers there are actually 2 speakers and that makes perfect sense. The other post shows a diagram with 9 locations on first page and then 10 on the second page. This post stated the first page was for the premium system and the second was for levinson system. If these diagrams are true representations then why isn't there a location for the sub on first page which the premium system should have and in my case I do have a sub in the cargo area. The questions remains is where are the other 2 speakers? I called a Lexus tech specialist and he couldn't answer the question and then he asked a salesman and his answer was the premium system has 10 speakers and the levinson has 12 and we all know this isn't right. When a Lexus dealer doesn't even know what they sell it sure doesn't make me feel confident that I have a premium system with 12 speakers. The other interesting piece to this is if you look at the Lexus website it clearly states that a 12 speaker premium system is included in the nav package but the Monroney sticker shows the nav package with the app suite and a couple of other items but no mention of 12 speakers. Frustrated because I can't seem to get a clear answer from Lexus.

Have a look at this link:

Scroll down to the Sound System section and it shows 3 different systems available to the RX. The base 9 speaker system is likely only available in non-North American markets, and is the one shown in the top section of the attached word document. Your 12-speaker system would have dual drivers for the front dash corners, but a single driver for the center channel. That would account for the 12 speakers.

Thanks for the link. So come to find out I have the 12 speaker Pioneer system. And what makes it 12 is the two front speakers are dual drivers and counts as two each. I do have the sub at the cargo area. Just like the OP, I do have the 12.3 Nav system and always thought I only have the 9 speaker system but puzzled having actually 10 speakers installed but now I know it's 12 drivers but actually still 10 speakers.

Thanks for the link that clarifies the sound systems. I knew that Lexus placed extra speakers within one grill so essentially I have 2 extra speakers in the dashboard. What amazes me is if you ask a Lexus dealer and I asked more than one they have no clue about the sound systems at all. The different answers I got were unbelievable and the dealers should be more knowledgeable about the cars they are selling. Sound systems may not be important to a lot of people but for me it is very important and I would not have been happy if I found out I only had a 9 speaker system. Thanks to everyone for the replies.

If it does not sound all that well, may I suggest 2 aspirin, lots of water and a good night's sleep, that should do it.

Obviously better sound/volume could be had with after market items but as an OEM system this one is good.
Make sure your settings are correct - turn off Surround Sound for a more musical experience.

I've been a car audio enthusiast over the last 35 years, installing numerous systems in my vehicles which could be called mid to upper range, mainly concentrating on quality of sound not boom, boom, boom. This is my first car where I won't be touching the electronics but may upgrade the speakers/mounting materials in the future.
