Touch Free Rear Door Sensor Replacement
Anyone have any idea what the part number or part cost is for the rear door touch free sensor? Mine got scratched badly and the car is only a few weeks old. It happened while the car was sitting outside so I'm sure I did not crash the door into anything. It's not cracked the whole way through and still works perfectly. There's no signs around the sensor or any looseness that would suggest that someone tried prying it off. I see a bunch of them on ebay with broken tabs but nothing in new condition.

Sill interested if anyone has a price on this. Absolutely no contact with anything in my garage! I happened while I was parked against some shrubs at work in our auxiliary overflow lot. Only thing I can think of is that someone tried to pry it off the car and it cracked in the process.

Depends which one you have....Apparently there are two kinds. I had to have one replaced due to incorrect fitment (warranty) ..$800.00 Canadian. Unfortunately the wrong one came, so they decided to "play" with it. They were able to double insulate the sensor and it fits perfectly now. This thing is ridiculously expensive!

800 Canadian or 620 US sounds about right. The front emblem on the grill is about $550. Ridiculously expensive for a piece of plastic. There's no electronics or anything in the Emblem, it's just plastic and still costs a fortune if you need to replace it.

I certainly do not mean to offend, but can I offer to you that the first time you noticed it is "while I was parked against some shrubs at work in our auxiliary overflow lot". It could have happened anywhere, anytime prior to you noticing it. I've been there too and just stared at things on my car I just noticed and asked how the heck that could have happened here.

As far a s I can tell the part I need is:
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...1a0-48040.html
There's a few on ebay for $180ish with no scratches and no broken tabs so I will go that route!
Lexus Part No.: 891A0-48040
It comes as the emblem with embedded sensor and the short wiring harness. Typical online price is $402:https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...1a0-48040.html

I for sure have no clue as to why each seller has one for sale on ebay. A few of them were specifically denoted as scratched but working and maybe the owners replaced them with new ones. A few of them had broken tabs so maybe they were stolen off of cars or maybe the owner broke them while removing them for new ones that were in pristine condition. A few looked totally new with no scratches and no broken tabs but I was unable to probe the minds of those sellers. Sometimes the remote Vulcan mind probe just doesn't work with ebay sellers.

This is a very high volume and complex car in which any more severe than a minor fender bender is likely to cause the car to be totaled. This means lots of broken cars being scraped for parts.
