2017 Model build date & remote starter
I'm looking at replacing my 2010 RX350 with a 2017 RX350, as there are some pretty good deals on the 2017 models. I had a couple of questions.
First, is it possible to find out the build date for by the VIN number or serial number? the name of the quote sheet they gave me has a 2016 date for the file name - note sure if that would be the build year. Would it be normal for a car being sold in 2018 to have a 2016 build year?
Secondly, is it worth getting the remote starter installed by the dealer - costs $1099 CDN. I know the benefit of a remote start, just not sure if its worth what the dealer is charging and whether it could be a source of future problems.
Lastly, I'm having a hard time deciding between the Executive and F Sport 3. Price is almost the same, but not sure about quality of interior material. The leather doesn't seem to be as nice as the ultra-premium 2010 model i have.

There's a whole thread on here about remote starts. You might want to search for it.
