You should not put money down on a lease, if the car is totaled you loose the DP. Plus, putting money down on a lease (not purchase) is like giving a landlord $1500 upfront to lower your monthly payments. In a purchase you put money down, because you own the vehicle and therefore get equity in it, a lease is basically a rental agreement.

Hello,
I'm in the market for Lexus 450H F Sport. I currently have my eye on a Nebula Gray Pearl with black interior fully loaded with MSRP at $61,944. So i checked truecar.com and I saw it at $58,000 and went to that dealer that was willing to give it at that price. With tax and fees included it will be $63,000 OTD. Will that be a good deal or asking $60,000 OTD is too excessive?

2018 Lexus RX350L Lease price paid
Just wanted to say hi and just recently leased a 2018 RX350L in white pearl with mocha brown leather. I have been thinking about getting an RX for the longest time and stopped by the dealership just to look around and
ended up leasing a new RX350L. I already own a 2016 GS350 AWD F sport and love the car. The MSRP on the RX350L was $57,318 which includes the premium package, navigation, touch free power rear door,
panoramic view monitor BSM with rear cross traffic braking and parking sensors, 20" upgraded rims, and heated leather steering wheel. I was lucky to find the only RX350L with the panoramic camera without having
to upgrade to the Luxury Package which would have brought the MSRP up to $63,000. No other dealer in the tri-state area had this custom order except for Lexus of Smithtown. Just wanted to post my numbers here
so that I can help other Club Lexus members see the deal that I got and what to expect. Please note that they have a special promo on just the RX350L. Actually it was more expensive to lease the regular RX350 than the RX350L.
So if you are on the fence about getting a RX350L, now is the time to buy or lease it.
So basically, this was a 36 month lease, with the first payment of $579 down + $300 NYS DMV new plate fee = $879 down out the door (8.625% tax included) to take delivery of the vehicle and then 35 more equal monthly payments of $579 each (out the door).
I called around other dealers and everyone started around $760, $700 something to $649 to $613.

Looking into buying my first Lexus RX 350, I have been quoted by 2 different dealers in NY/CT/NJ area about -11% off MSRP. I am trading in a car as well and that has proven to be a more difficult task.

2018 RX in Albuquerque NM
With only one dealership in town, how much of a discount can I expect on a 2018 RX350 with an MSRP of $53,000? I've been seeing suggestions on here to shoot for 10-15% off but is that possible with only one dealership? Any suggestions?
