Reverse Camera Quality is blurry
#16
While at a Lexus ride and drive for the new LS500 they had a couple of Japanese Spec
(but Left Hand Drive) models to demonstrate the new LSS+ features. When the car was
in reverse the entire inside rear view mirror (which was slightly oversize with square corners)
became the monitor for the Dual Back up cameras...whoo boy was it clear! We asked and
were told that it was not scheduled for the US market...yet.

We're all getting spoiled. Our TVs years ago were never as clear as the RX camera Now we want ultra hi-def in our cars.

I found adjusting the brightness higher on the rear view camera made it a clearer and easier to see. But there's also a great possibility that it could be all in my head lol.

The point is we paid $50+k for a Luxury vehicle with a cheap sh8t backup camera quality. IIRC my 2010 RX350 and 450h had BETTER camera than this '17 RX.

20 years ago before I came to this country (Thanks Reagan) I had a 1-speed bicycle which I rode 26 km to school daily.....Does this mean I can't ask for a "better" camera in my car (since that makes me spoiled)?.

We have a 2015 Lexus GS and the back-up camera is often foggy - not all the time - but sometimes so much as to be unusable. I cannot believe that LEXIS provides this - especially as my Volvo 2015 S60 - parked in exactly the same setting as the LEXIS - has a camera that ALWAYS has a perfect image. Lexis says there is nothing wrong with the camera - but it is hard to believe (in view of our Volvo camera). Either their camera IS defective, or its seals leak moisture into the inner workings, or it is placed poorly on the car. All I know is that the Volvo camera is spectacular by comparison. And the Lexis Service dept in West Houston is not at all helpful or interested in really solving this problem. I can only conclude that Lexis either provides poor back up cameras, or poor service.

If you guys think lexus cameras are bad, you should see nissan/Infiniti cameras. My friend's qx80 ($80,000 vehicle) and my father's 2018 murano both have crappy cameras, maybe at best 240p resolution like very old webcam? At night there are unusable.
