HD cameras are slowly becoming the norm. Usually the first out of the gate in the lux market was the Volvo 2nd gen XC90s, then current E class, and now the mainstream brands like the chevy, ram, and ford pickups have HD quality. Lexus and toyota are going to wait it out until they deplete their current stock of old camera techs.

No problem with my camera, which I always thought was very good. Its a backup camera. It does not need to show 1080 detail or a movie.

Yeah unfortunately it's just a poor resolution camera. Toyota/Lexus has been installing pretty crappy cameras with terrible resolution when compared to their European luxury competitors. I have a 16 RX Executive Package.

Comments like this make it incorrectly seem that wanting for a higher resolution camera purpose is for posting backup camera selfies to post on social media LOL.
Better sensors help in the night and other poor lighting conditions.

You may be correct, but then again I think it is really good at night.

Default Back up Camera Blurry

I Have a brand new RX350 with less then 400 miles on it. The back up camera was focused through the whole fish eye lens up until this weekend. Now the outside edges are blurred and the center image where the guide lines are focused. I also have a split screen showing the top all-around view. I don't remember if this blurry issue and split screen was always on or did something change. Possibly the split screen is causing the blurred camera by distorting the image. I did drive in the rain for 15 minutes, so I checked the camera and it is clear with no condensation.
Thoughts anyone?

Thanks.
