Cargo area smaller than previous gen?

Surprising too considering how much larger the 4RX is on the outside.

Does it have more or less cargo capacity than the previous generation?
I am getting conflicting information... Dealership told me with the rear seats up there is slightly less cargo space, with the seats down slightly more than the previous generation... But looking online at specification it shows a massive decrease in cargo capacity volume? That doesn't make sense to me?

Cargo Capacity vs 2013 RX350
Considering a 2018 or 2019 RX350. How does the cargo capacity compare? (I may not get the new RX if the capacity is smaller since I totally load my current RX for my summer travel.)

2018 RX specs:
rx350 18.4 cu ft behind 2nd row, 56.3 cuft behind 1st row (if you fold the rear seats down).
RX350L 16.3 cu ft behind 3rd row. 33.4cuft behind 2nd row. 70.7 behind 1st row.
2013 RX350 40 cu ft behind 2nd row, 80 cu ft behind 1st row.

Not sure but I thought I read on here somewhere that Lexus changed the way they measured it. Like someone else suggests, best to just go and look for yourself. Bring a tape measure.

Correct, Lexus changed the measurement to count only the space under the cargo cover with the 2nd row up. My 2016 has about the same room as my 2010 did.

I have had 2 gen 3 rx450h's and 1 gen 4. I measured the cargo area of a gen 4 while I still had my last gen 3 and the gen 4 was about 2 inches longer. At some point Lexus changed the way they report cargo volume to be just the volume under the cargo cover. This has hurt them in many reviews because it gets reviewed as having a small cargo area when it really doesn't.
For me, the big factor is that with the Lexus you can put a set of golf clubs straight across in the cargo area without removing the woods. You cannot do that with most other crossovers!!
