anyway, I assume from the responses, permanently disabling the radar control is not an option.

thanks to everyone for their comments.
I would humbly suggest that using either type of cruise control is not wise in severe traffic or when you expect to change lanes frequently.

Default Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

I have a 2021 RXL. When I set the DRCC and start descending a hill the DRCC will not hold and goes up anywhere from 10 to 15 MPH over the set speed ( 40 ,45, 50 60 mph) Dealer seems to think this is normal. I recently had a loaner 2022 RXL and it held spot on ( well 1 mph over the set.) on the same hill. I did some more hills at 40 45 50 55 mph and same it held the set speed.
Do you think there is a newer module or programing change in the 2022 model year. This is very frustrating. Anyone have this experience?
Thanks
JB

My '17 definitely does not go up that much, it normally will go 2-3 over while using the transmission downshift to slow down.

I do have another bug in the cruise control though, quite frequently it will get stuck in lower gear than it should. I have to tap the accelerator for it to upshift.

First, do you feel or hear the engine break engaging when you're going downhill and the ECM is trying to stay within your set speed limit?

Second, the owner's manual has warnings in multiple places that DRCC should not be used or can be unstable when on hills. An excerpt from one of those warnings I provided below.

With all that said, you'll be hard-pressed to find a Lexus tech who will state your vehicle's DRCC is not performing to spec.

Frankly, I do not trust the DRCC or ASDRCC on anything other than a flat road, but that's just me.

I've noticed that happen as well after it downshifts to slow down.

Default .. cruise control slows set speed ..rx 350 2022

does anyone knows if the 2022 rx350 rear red stop lights go on when radar speed control reduces the set speed when approaching vehicles in front of you?

It’s on the steering wheel. On mine lower right side. Check your manual.

Default Adaptive Cruise Question.......

So here's the scenario: I'm rolling down the Interstate with the cruise control on and I come to a construction zone, So I press and hold the cruise control stalk until the set speed gets to where I want. At one point I'm still rolling fast enough that the car puts on the brakes somewhat hard to slow me down. OR - someone changes lanes in front of me going much slower than me so the car brakes hard. Given either of these - when the brakes are applied, do the brake lights come on?

Same with BRAKE AUTO HOLD - brake lights illuminated when stopped.

Default Cruise control?

Hi

I am looking to buy a used 2022 RX350 & have a question on the cruise control. I believe this SUV has adaptive cruise control (please correct if wrong) but can anyone tell me if there is an option to turn the adaptive option off so the cruise control works without the adaptive option? I use cruise control extensively but I can not stand the adaptive option while on a 4 lane highway & would never buy a vehicle that has only adaptive cruise control. Thanks
