Hi Quantum501,

I went to the dealer and was able to confirm the transmission washers/gaskets part numbers. Your document has the correct up to date part numbers for the 2017 RX350. sz8's part list has some outdated part numbers. The transmission diagram below has the part numbers and location in case anyone wants to see them.
Fill plug gasket (90430-A0003) cost was $2.04
Drain plug gasket (96721-24018) cost was $7.27
Overflow tube gasket (90080-30075) cost was $4.17

Yeah, they change part numbers pretty regularly which can sometimes drive you crazy.

Not a big deal b/c not a common service, but shop around for parts prices if you do your own work. I actually order most of my parts from an online Toyota dealership in Massachusetts, that even with shipping is much cheaper than anything around my home at the local dealerships. I also tend to buy in bulk since I do heavy miles and I order parts for my wife's 4Runner at the same time.

Thank you so much for the instruction. It is very clear and very streamlined. It clarified my confusion on why the drain plug is round on the outside, but in actuality, it is a Allen head bolt after the Torx bolt is removed.

Based on our RX350's VIN number, all eight parts numbers from sz8, yours, and the Lexus dealer fit our SUV. Not a big deal, but how can all three different gaskets be used for the same drain and overflow bolts? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Are there any on-line site that has parts with a big diagram with various components to compare? I might have to go to the Lexus dealer and look at their part schematics.

Thanks again!
As you can probably see I am hyper structured. I have been a Physics teacher for the past 34 years and have been writing lab procedures that even non - attentive high school students can follow. Retiring in 29 days. Actually love my job and students but want to spend time doing all the stuff that I could not do while teaching (travel, hike, fish, etc).

Now that Viktor has disappeared (hope that he is OK), I might actually start making some Lexus RX videos. There is no way that I can do anywhere near the job that Viktor did, but have have notes on most of his jobs, so maybe I can fill some of the void from his absence. That is what I love about this forum....everyone is trying to help each other out with questions/problems.

I downloaded a few of Victor's videos for the 2016-2022 Lexus RX350 if anyone needs them. Glad I did, all the good how-to channels disappear. I have done all of these services in one weekend with parts ordered online from Toyota and picked up locally. Denso spark plugs were $15 cheaper at Toyota than AutoZone/Advance Auto who had the exact same spark plugs.
1. Electric Parking Brake EPB Release - Rear Brake Service Mode
2. Engine Coolant Drain And Fill Instructions
3. Rear Differential Fluid Replacement Instructions
4. Spark Plug Replacement Instruction
5. Transfer Case Fluid Replacement Instructions
6. Transmission Fluid Replacement Instructions

I'll have the other videos when I'm back home in a couple days, let me know if anyone needs them.

Here's the link to download Victor's Transmission Fluid Replacement, I'll leave the download link up for a couple days. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzlgsibon9...2060k.mp4?dl=0

Thanks for doing this. I am actually in the process of copying all of my own school related YouTube videos onto a drive since I am retiring and the school account will disappear.

Never thought that this content would go away, so having copies will be great.

If you could link the spark plug and coolant videos that would be appreciated. I wrote notes on each, but having the videos is much easier.

Thanks again!

We missed the boat on Viktor's videos since we recently got an RX 350. Were there more of Viktor's original videos on his channel than what you had listed below?

From the list, I am interested in:
1. Electric Parking Brake EPB Release - Rear Brake Service Mode
2. Engine Coolant Drain And Fill Instructions
4. Spark Plug Replacement Instruction

Thank you so much,

Thank you so much,

Will get you the links for download soon! Those were majority of the videos for the 2016 - 2022 RX that I deemed were important to save. He had other videos for the previous generation RX but I didn't download them.

Now that Viktor is gone again, any chance that you have the Viktor Coolant video, as well as his front and rear brake videos also. I could not copy them without YouTube Premium.

Not a big deal if you don't have them....I have done each job several times before but love to see his list of part numbers to confirm my research, and see the step by step.

Link should still be up for all the videos, let me know if you're having issues downloading them. I think I uploaded the wrong one for coolant, it's linking to the GS. I'll look for the coolant video.
