Here is a difference sequence to drain all of the fluid at once. Interesting way of doing it, but at least you don't have to worry about the pan and the filter. As he says in the video, there is an internal filter but no one replaces since you would have to crack open the case.
This method might be easier than the repeated drain and fill method.

BTW, the title say FLUSH but it is not a pump flush that you hear about.....he just drains the whole system via cooler line. I think he shows 8.5 quarts used (including waste)....capacity is 7.2 quarts.
He also has videos on the transfer case and rear diff oil drain and fill.

This is the 1st tutorial where they check the level with the engine running.

Does anyone know of a relatively cheap OBDII scan tool that does transmission fluid temperature. I have a Bluedriver and like it but it does not do trans temp. I know that I could go the illegal Techstream route but that seems like a lot of trouble for a few reasons.

I too have Blue Driver, but not yet Trans Temp in it, it's coming though. When I don't know.

Unfortunately I actually contacted Blue Driver and that they said that they do not have access to that data, so I think that it is doubtful that they will add that feature. Maybe I am wrong and they are working through the night to get that option added, but it sounded like, ummm....sorry.

I am tempted to do the hacked TechSteam thing, but with this latest video, it looks like a good and easy option. If only there was a dipstick.....

I have to do some research b/c I have an iPhone. Seems Androids have more options. Seems that there is a Bafx WiFi version for iOS for $27. The Fusion App is $10, and then the Lexus/Toyota tools in App purchase is another $10. Just hope it works....I may purchase and find out. Thanks again.

I had tried several other apps and none were as useful as the fusion app. I don't think it can actuate the parking brake?

So with this and Fusion App you can get live transmission fluid temperature? Just want to confirm b/f I pull the trigger. Looks like Fusion recommends either this OBD (iOS version) or Veepeak BLE. Just want to be sure. Thanks

Yes, gives real time feedback from transmission temperature sensor.

On that note, there is a fellow on YouTube that did testing of the transmission fluid expansion at various temperatures and the results seem to be negligible between cold and hot.

In any case, assuming the factory put in the correct amount of fluid, if you put in exactly as much as you remove while vehicle is cold and new fluid is cold then it simplifies the drain fill alot... There are some examples of the factory fill being off by significant amount though, so perhaps good to check level with temperature procedure at some point...

Picked up Veepeak BLE BT OBDII along with Fusion App and it reads AT fluid temp, and a whole lot more. New toy to play with. Thanks 10000rpms for the info.

Sweet, glad it worked out. Kinda fun cruising around watching all the feedback on the app.

Still interested in the tis software, went to purchase and the seller on ebay said need a dealer login to get technical bulletins etc. May just look for good old manual...

Yeah....I guess that you have to get the standard basic subscription for those....table in link in post #52 shows what comes with it.

As far as the cable and software. It is very appealing but the cheap software is all pirated and can be full of viruses. I have been researching how to do this without destroying my computer. Cheap old laptop with VM running.

Let us know what you do and how well it works. Some of these are no longer on Amazon as I suspect they were taken down.
