I put a set of Michelin Primacy Tour A/S on my wife's Honda Pilot today. It's not an RX, but the tire size is reasonably close (245/50R20). First indication from her is that they are quieter than the 42K mile Continental LX Sports they replaced, and she can hear a snail move at 100m. A Michelin rep told me the Premier LTX is being discontinued and the Primacy Tour A/S is the replacement. Hopefully the driving characteristics are as good and and they will wear much better. The Premier LTX has been a popular tire on the RX, and I think it is the OEM tire on those that come with Michelins.

If you feel the need to stay at the higher rated V, check out some of Goodyear’s offerings. They are competitively priced.
Thanks.

I did read about the Goodyear Weatherreadys, but reviews seem to indicate that the tread wears quickly. The Goodyear Maxlife tires were another consideration, but in general I’m just not a big fan of Goodyear tires due to previous experience.

I’ll probably go with the Pirellis above since feedback (including treadwear/treadlife) seems to be decent on them.

Today at 28,000 miles I got a set of Goodyear Assurance Maxlife tires installed, replacing the OEM Bridgestones that were below 4/32 on the tread. My initial impression, driving about 20 miles through suburbia with a couple of stops on my way home, was that the car was quieter and the ride smoother. It wasn't a dramatic difference, just a softer feel on the steering wheel and over the bumps and holes. I hope they have respectable traction in the winter -- we'll know in a few months.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Continental Crosscontact LX25? It's relatively new (past couple years). I've had good luck with other Continentals and the TireRack reviews seem pretty strong, but they don't have the quantity of reviews other tires have. I'm considering the other usual suspects too (Michelin Premier LTX, Pirelli Scorpion, Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady). Most driving here is wet, very little snow but we do get maybe 1-2 snowfalls per season and I'd like to be able to get around. This is for my 2016 450h F-Sport.

Pretty slim pickings on wheel sizes. Nothing for 20 inch F-Sport (looking at Tire Rack).

Continental makes some great tires. They are not widely carried everywhere & usually only found on very high end cars. Toyota uses strange tire sizes, so finding the correct size will be almost impossible.

I must correct my error in post #600 -- I looked on the Continental website and they do show a 235/55 R20 rated 102V. No idea why Tire Rack doesn't show that.

I think it's here - looks like the same one you found.

Apparently their search works better if you give it a make and model. I went in to the brands and searched on Continentals, and it didn't show that tire or any 20" tires...

A Michelin rep told me last month that the Premier LTX is being discontinued. The replacement is the Primacy Tour A/S. That doesn't mean $118 isn't a screaming deal. If you need to buy a replacement tire in a year, though, you likely won't find an LTX. The knock on the LTX has been tread life; all other characteristics generally get rave reviews. For $118, it doesn't need to last very long!

Yup after only 30k miles on an LTX, it is definitely worth $118. Performance drops off at 4/32 and not 2/32 as advertised. Feels very stable over snowy passes.

Two weeks ago I went with the 255/50/20 Goodyear Assurance Maxlife on my 16 F Sport. I had the Bridgestones with 34K on them. Complete night and day with road noise. Handling is much better as well. I would say that bumps are a tad bit more noticeable, but is not a deal breaker at all. The bigger tires make the stance look way better now.

Those Goodyears are a great tire. We replaced our OEM Michelins with them but in 20" OEM size.

Is there a gas mileage difference?
