It does look very different. It gets rave reviews for bad weather (snow and rain) traction, and is said to be reasonably quiet. The CrossClimate 2 has big open shoulders, though, so it is difficult to believe it is more quiet than tires with more closed shoulders.

I'm tempted even though my OEM Bridgestones only have 7000 miles. My local Sam's Club is showing $749 installed with all taxes and fees and charges. We have 7% sales tax here in PA.

Default Bridgestone vs Michelin

I have always been a staunch Michelin fan, but my 2016 RX 450h came new with Bridgestone Ecopias. The ride was so amazingly smooth, however, that I initially had no complaints about them. Two years later, at 10K miles (all city driving), I noticed excessive tire wear. The tires were absolutely bald by 12K miles, and required immediate replacement, so I bought a set of Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. My RX rode noticeably rougher with these Michelins, so I demanded a new set of Michelin LTX Premiers. It made no difference; the Michelin ride is still rough. It simply doesn’t compare favorably to that of the Bridgestones. If I still have this RX when these Michelins wear out, I’ll definitely replace them with Bridgestones.

Glad your Ecopia experience was good. It does put you in the minority on this thread, although forums in general collect a lot more negative comments than positive. My Ecopia's haven't been awful, although I do think there are quieter, more smooth riding tires. Oddly enough, I think the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S is one such tire. I put a set on my wife's Pilot and was impressed by the quiet and smooth ride.

Your fast tire wear is interesting. My Ecopias have 13.5K miles on them and I just measured their tread depth at 7/32, down from the original 10/32. That's with mixed driving with much of it in the WV hills. Assuming even treadwear and replacement at 4/32, they should get to 27K. The legal limit is 2/32, though, and I assume that is what you described as 'bald'. Running mine to that point should yield 36K.

I thought the Ecopias were smooth and quiet, it's just the tread life was wholly unacceptable. It wore out like a summer tire you track every weekend, not a touring all season SUV tire.

I think the Ecopia's 'smoothness' might come from the low rolling resistance it was designed with. It does feel like it's always coasting/gliding along; especially compared to grippy tires like my new Michelins.

There may have been a narrow band in the tread life where the Ecopias were reasonably quiet, but the tire roars from my old Bridgestones were getting more and more noticeable towards the last year before I finally ditched them.

Default dealers matching prices

anybody have any luck having their dealer match tire prices (specifically costco)

i know costco pretty much every other month has $150 off michelin's (which they currently are running)

I don't think any dealer, or any store, will match Costco price - different business models, different clienteles, different operating costs, ....

But why bother with price match? If someone already tries their best to earn my business, I just buy from them.

Default OEM 2021 rx350 tires

What are the various OEM tires that come with a new car from the factory? I prefer Michelins. Do you think a dealer can swap them out before I pick up the car?

Mine came with Ecopias but I saw other RXes on the lot had Michelins. It’s been a couple of months and I can’t say anything good or bad about Ecopias yet, but they are rated quite poorly on tirerack, so if you can negotiate Michelins - worth a try!

Michelins not great either. I replaced with Goodyear Maxlife - far superior.

Default continental dws06 tires RX F-Sport

So the RX is in dire need of new tires since all 4 are bald. the stock tires are horrible and i’m curious if i could do a 255/50-20 setup of continental extremecontact dws06’s on the RX. for one thing they’re amazing in the summer and very good in the snow too and should help plenty with grip and handling! any thoughts?
