Dealers don't have any control regarding the brand of tire fitted to a specific car.
Back in 2010 when the RX was redesigned there was a consistent pattern, the
Navigation Package RX 350 had Michelins and the Non-Nav had Bridgestones.
By 2013 they had begun fitting Dunlops as well and the pattern pretty much ended.
You might offer to pay for the labor to swap and register the TPMS sensors when the
car is brand new with another in stock with the same wheels. One consideration of
that maneuver is that if a specific tire model is recalled and Lexus provides a list of
which VIN numbers were produced with that tire they will send the legal notices to
the owners of record. When Mr. Firestone gets the notice and checks the car...
"Hey, great I don't have those tires" but the fellow that does have them never gets the
notice.

They certainly were awful on my 2018. I don't normally accelerate hard or brake hard, and my Ecopias were too far gone at 28K miles to go into a winter safely. I replaced them with Goodyear Assurance Max-Lifes. The car is coming up on 50K miles now, and the Max Lifes show no sign of aging. You won't find any Ecopia fans on this forum.

Just purchased 2022 RX350 with Bridgestone Ecopia 235/55-20. Awful tire. Traded in 2019 RX350 with Michelin Premier LTX.
I know there is a thread on tire comparisons but these tires have an hard ride. Lexus says there is no recourse.
Do I just live with these or spend the $1,100 to swap out. Any thoughts, recommendations ?
Thanks,
David

WeatherPeak Tires
Has anyone here used the Weatherpeaks on their car?
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...rtnum=365HR8WP
If I look at tire rack its all 9+ ratings.
I live in CT and spend about 15 days skiing. I know tires are a big thing with snow.
What you think? Tire rack can get 4 for $900 out the door.

Hello RX family, just got back into a RX, I was a previous owner of a 07 400h, i tried to negotiate with the dealer but the service dept was unwilling to budge on switching from the ecopia to the premier ltx, according to the sales manager.
i received a big discount to compensate for the tires. I noticed as I was test driving the car, the road noise was so loud for a luxury suv to have these tires. I remembered my first experience with ecopias in my 14 Prius plug in, couldn't wait to get them off, ended up get some really good Toyos but suffered slightly on the mileage which was fine. Have to give to receive in other areas sometimes.
My question is this, I'm in the Los Angeles area, so I deal with LA type road conditions, what is a tire that people that own a 350 or 450h that drive in road conditions like mine recommend?
There are so many on TireRack and even Costco. Even within the Michelin line there are several.
I'm debating the route of turning up the music/podcast to hearing the road noise and deal with the road noise that way for a few months or pick out a Michelin or better equivalent tire right away?
What do people do with practically new but crappy ecopias??? Any practical suggestions are welcome.
Thank you RX family. Wishing everyone a most fabulous new year!

I personally love the pirelli scorpions for what you talk about.
I am curious on what others think about those wetaherpeak tires….

I have a Model X with the Scorpions when it was time to change out the Continentals after 20k. They seem to be pretty good, better than the Contis that it came with.
I have some Michelins in my LS, Latitude HP Tour and they serve the car really well.
Just trying to find that near perfect tire for the hybrid to try and max out fuel efficiency since gas prices esp premium are very high in So Cal and minimize the road noise as much as possible.
One thing I wished the car came with was the regular moonroof as opposed to the panoramic one which I think contributes to the road noise. I was way too late in the game to order one or find one with the regular moonroof.
I read about the discontinuing the V6 due to CA lame emission laws in Sept.
I'm trying to read through all the posts but it's a big thread.
1k to 1200 for a new set is still pretty steep considering the car was almost 71k OTD.
The sales manager was surprised I was so extensive after the test drive in pointing so many things out and never heard of a customer mentioning road/tire noise before.

I expected to do some negotiating with potential buyers, and was surprised when I sold them the same day I listed them while getting my asking price without any discussion.
I asked the buyer what car he was putting the 20'' tires on, and he said the Volvo XC60 he was driving. When I commented that the tires on his car looked fine, he said, "at the price you were asking I couldn't let the deal go by. I will put them on my Volvo when the current tires wear out."
Apparently the Ecopia is an expensive high mileage tire..."about $275 each," he told me.

I feel your pain. My 2021 RX came with Ecopias and I met a brick wall when it came to changing them out to any Michelin tire. At least your dealer gave you a price adjustment. Between having my car special ordered and buying in a sellers market, certainly didn't help much. So, with only 500 miles on the car I went to a local tire seller and bought Michelin Cross Climate 2's. The car immediately became smoother and quieter. I quickly learned that used tires, even ones with only 500 miles on them are worth little. I sold the Ecopias to a close friend for $150. If you decide to change tires, remember the TPMS sensors of your wheels are new and don't need to be messed with. Look for a manufacturers cash back sale to ease the $$. I'm very glad I made this switch.

Bridgestone Ecopia Tires
Anyone else not getting a long life expectancy out of these tires. I have Bridgestone, Ecopia V Rating 235/65/18 tires with 25K miles and all 4 are bald even after rotating.
I've never had to change tires so early in a lease. I normally give back car and pray and now need to put 4 new tires on at the 22 months.
