Lane Keep Assist and Lane Centering

Since all auto makers are forcing this equipment on us, does anyone know how to permanently unhook/disable this crap? I don’t want to have to dig into a menu constantly to turn this garbage off. I have noticed that almost every top trim level vehicle (brand doesn’t matter) has this crap as part of a package. This is one reason that I’m hanging onto both vehicles for a while - I don’t want this *****!!

For the 2021 RX350L, it is a button the steering wheel. Once it is turned off, it remembers the setting. I guess Lexus knows how annoying this feature can become. I am sure it has its place, but more often than not, it is not very pleasant to drive with this feature enabled.

LTA vs. LKA
Hi,
For LKA (Lane Keep Assist) in the 2016-2019 RX compared to LTA (Lane Trace Assist) in the 2020-2021 is there any difference other than LTA giving the car the ability to trace the lane off of the car in front? For example on a road with no vehicle in front?
thanks in advance
also please see my other questions about the backup camera in the RX: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...vs-2020-a.html

Lorn - I think you have the LTA confused with Radar Cruise Control. LTA keeps the car in the center of the lane via the camera watching the lines on the road. The radar looks at the car in front and keeps a set distance in conjunction with the cruise control. Personally, I don't care for either feature. Ray A.

Correct. Note that the long press only works if cruise control is 'off.' If you want switch from dynamic mode to constant speed mode (aka 'regular' cruise), press the on/off switch momentarily to turn cruise off, then perform the long press.

Dealer adjustable?
Enjoyed reading one’s postings.
I kind of like these auto safety features and wonder if they are adjustable by the dealer.
i love the DRCC but the distance it keeps from the car ahead gives aggressive drivers around NYC area cut in endlessly. Soon I would be crawling. And it weaves left and right when DRCC is on, or hugs the right hand line.

BTW, the dynamic cruise control is different that lane keep assist/lane tracking, and they can be enabled/disabled independently. (I know you can disable lane keep assist/lane tracking while using dynamic cruise, but am not certain the reverse is true.)
