I am just wondering about these aluminum tailgate scuff-plate and rear bumper inserts I've seen on some RXs. Are those part of the luxury package?

It might be an F-Sport item, I seem to recall that looks like the plate on a '15 NX F Sport I had.

 

I thought the aluminum scuff plates were standard across all models. I can confirm the 450h F-Sport has them.

 

No, it's not standard as I don't have it on my 2018 RX 450h (non F Sport). I definitely saw it on non F-Sport RX 450hL that had a luxury package. It also had an aluminum insert in the rear bumper.

 

Nope it is not standard. Instead it is a third party accessory that you can buy either from eBay or Amazon. It is not aluminum (although probably some are) but the bests ones are actually polish stainless. And yes, I have it on my unit.

 

 

There is definitely an OEM one as I’ve seen it at the auto show and at the dealers. My question still is which package is it part of? It definitely comes with F Sport trim but I’ve seen it on non F Sport models.

 

As posted by those with full options, I guess there is an OEM. I have the Base Model and do not have that aluminum scuff protection in the cargo area. I bought a polished stainless on ebay for around $45. There are two types, one that covers the full length or 1 piece (except for the locking hook section) and then there is the two piece option as posted. Here's a pic of the one piece version.

Thanks for the info. As I thought it is part of the luxury package. Do you know what they mean by rear bumper protector listed right next to stainless steal rear door garnish?

 

Mine has it too, 2016 Luxury Non F-Sport though.

But for the inside border, mine is plastic.
