2016 rx 350/450h NO DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER???

Lets not be judgmental here of anyone's taste. I really like the digital display, very tech and futuristic.
But in my mind, if the display comes to break, no more information available, while with the classic one, less prone to break.
And if it does, it would be a mechanical cable or electro-magnet to replace (even if this part is still also used by the digital one to measure speeds), not a whole display.
My two cents.
So each have their reasons and those are mine of my choice.
And let's respect the other people's choices.

I suspect that this is a generational thing.
In the early and mid 1980s, many manufacturers offered digital speedometers on various car models. The overwhelming consensus of car buyers at that time was that they did not want the digital speedometers, and most of the manufacturers dropped them within a couple of years. I recall a common refrain was "just give me a big, easy to read round dial". I also recall various race car drivers rejecting digital speedometers and saying that big round dials are easier to read.
I suspect that, today, a good portion of those with a strong preference for digital speedometers are those who are young enough to have lived most of their lives in a world that is primarily digital.

wait thats a clock? I thought that was a art piece thats moved with the sun and moon movement.
lol. jeez guys getting a lot of flak for liking digital speedometer here. I guess i like as it tell me the exact speed 72, 73, 74 75 vs. analog which is appox;. Thats really it. also this is my second lexus and i have many cars, bmw's, mercedes, aston martin, range etc that all had this for the last 10 years. Im just suprised in 2016-2018 if i want digital speed i have to get f sport or get the projection.
But my opinion on this is Lexus is WAY BEHIND on some of that standard technology. In fact its like my aston martin. beautiful car...horrible infotainment technology. In fact look at the camera...camera looks like its fromt the 80's. Funny I test drove a 2017 Aston Martin v12 vantage dogleg (when my car was in for service..very rare car only 200 made) exact copy of my roadster but newer. The camera was even worse on the aston than it is in the rx. Then i look at the technology of my Bmw I3, i look at the crystal clear backup camera, and im blown away. My friend has a RCF and thats one thing he complains about all the time on the outdated tech.
