It's a device added to make the brake lights more visible. My dealer installed it on all new Lexus and charged 395 for it.

It’s called PULSE... lots of dealers are starting to install this on all their cars...

This was something already pre-installed at the dealer and had no saying in it... I saw a Honda dealer had done the same also on all their cars..

Not sure if I’d want some Chinese made 15 dollar contraption going into my 60k+ RX anyway.. The dealer will have to warrant their Pulse crap if anything goes wrong at least...

Is it legal having a blinking tail light now? In the past I installed in my car, got pulled over.

I think it's a grey area (at cops discretion), but if you google this, every single car and bike forum compares this offer to a dealer's scam. You are literally paying hundreds of dollars for the same cheap module available anywhere. This is not rocket science. The only thing that maybe challenging for some is the actual splicing and tapping in... The dealership will be doing the same thing, unless pulse protects provides a plug-n-play option, which should cost max $50, but not 350-450...

If this was so crucial and life saving to driving, DOT would have made this a mandatory factory install.

I think this thing is cool & may keep the A-hole tailgaters at a safe distance (probably not). The directions say you need to access the wires to the 3rd brake light to install. Anyone know if they are easy to get to on the RX? Could be a 10 min project or an all day job to install. Here's the install pdf:

Oh, so this is for the third brake light? Somehow I thought they were talking about the tail lights.

It's one screw holding the light. I just looked, everything is easily accessible.
