This brings up a lot of questions. Is it even legal to leave a car running unattended (the answer is no in some states)? Will your insurance cover a car theft if were negligent by leaving car running unattended. Could you be prosecuted or sued for any damages while leaving the car running unattended (to pets, kids, etc.)? Can you completely trust that the car will keep running with the AC on past the 10 min interval allowed with remote start? These questions have all been asked. Here is one link.

Oh wow. Last night during the rain guy in Costco pressed a button on something and his Tesla drove itself to the door. Is it legal?

 

Not a lawyer, but I would think that's probably legal. But not to leave an unattended vehicle running.

 

Dogs used to fetch a stick, now they drive the Tesla to the door? Woof!

 

Les7311, I tried your method and couldn't make it work. The door opened before I could get the key inserted.......I am going to try again.
