Default Normal driving mode controls quietness??

Reading in the owners manual about the different driving modes. Eco-normal and sport. They all control pretty much the same things, But in normal mode it says it also controls the Quietness How does it do this?? This is a 2018 RX 350 base model.

I don't think it impacts sound at all. I drive often in both and it's mainly trans shift patterns that are different.

In Sports mode the engine/transmission will change down sooner, hold each gear longer so the motor is revving faster more often, hence more noise in Sports mode.

With the AC on full, when I switch from normal to eco, the AC fans and seat ventilation fans slow down and get less noisy.

My seat fans are very quiet. I"m just curious what it Actually is supposed to change/control. A few years ago I think that MBenz had a system that while the radio was on it emitted a type of white noise that balanced or counter acted the road noise. Maybe - this is what it does?? only Lexus knows for sure

Mrdave, I am guessing that if your seat fans are quiet, you don't have them turned up all the way. Mine sound like the roar of a jet engine. It's interesting to note that the seat fans suck instead of blow. Who knew.

747 jet engine to be exact and there is no way anyone's fans are quiet on full power. NO WAY.

My hearing must be bad then-it really is, but my wife has good hearing LOL. My seat fan control buttons have 3 green lights indicating they are on high mode (Is this just the temp indication only?). Sitting in the driveway, engine idling, seat fans on high to eliminate road noise. The actual climate fans are a little loud on max. Do the seat fans have a different fan speed control? My car is very quiet.I'm still learning all of the controls of this car.My old car was an Accord so this is completely different. I just read in the owners manual that it controls quietness in normal drive mode and just curious how they were controlling it. Thank you for all of you replies. It goes in for it's 5k mile checkup soon and i will ask a mechanic at the dealership . Maybe i will get an answer i can believe. I will get back to you.

+10 they really roar, but it doesn't last long after a few minutes in switches to a lower setting

If you have the vehicle in ECO setting, the fans will also be affected as this setting reduces ALL consumption including electricity.
