Upon end of lease inspection the third party inspection company will be more concerned if your windshield has any cracks in it then if it's OEM. I've been leasing for over 20 years and several vehicles were returned with other then OEM windshields and never once did I have an issue.

However, IMO based on the questions you were asked Safelite will more than likely replace your windshield with an OEM replacement. I say this because back in May the windshield on my wife's Q7 got cracked and when I called Safelite I requested they use OEM replacement glass.

The rep explained that there are several vehicles now that they will only use OEM windshields on without the customer even having to request it.. Fortunately the Q7 was one of them so I didn't have to argue with my insurance company..
