I have a 2019 RX350 F-Sport and I recently brought it into the dealership for my 5K service and inquired about Apple Carplay. He showed me the computer screen which said:

"Car Eligible for Apple Carplay Update: NO"

So yeah...unfortunately there won't be an OEM Apple Carplay option for the 2019 RX models (unless you can somehow change or modify the hardware)

Anyone have CarPlay dongle problem like me?
I plugged CarPlay dongle to android box USB port, but carplay is not start.
Just I can see below picture.

help me...

It tell you to plug the dongle to the android box's usb port. Probably it's loosen, or the USB port cable didn't connect to the android box correctly?

Yes. I plugged android's USB port and I checked twice.
When I plugged USB mouse, it was working.

Try a few things: plug dongle into other USB port from android box; with iPhone plugged in, do a soft reset. See if either of those get it.

A soft reset on your phone. I don’t think you need to do a soft reset on the android box, but it couldn’t hurt. To reset the android box, press the Mode and track up buttons on your steering wheel at the same time.

Thank you @qvtruong for all your help in answering my questions!

I chatted with Cosmo via WeChat last night and long story short...

I ordered my unit along with a wireless dongle last night and it is expected to get here in a week or so via expedited DHL shipping! (I am in the Los Angeles area)

For those of you going the DIY installation route, I think this video will help you in carefully disassembling your RX stereo and navigation screen:


Who knows, maybe the GROM cable plug-ins are similar to this Android box (in which case, you can just follow the video to a T)

i would highly recommend paying extra $20 for the DHL shipping instead of the slow e-packet

I wish I would have seen this option when I purchased. Ugh. And per Cosmo, I was the first person to order it. Definitely will not be the first one getting it. Probably another 2 weeks for me I bet. Let us all know how it works!!!

i got it with the wireless carplay option and will be dropping it in this weekend. Sure I will report back on the installation (hopefully smooth sailing) and how wireless car play works.
