I didn’t plug anything. I only use the wireless for now. I think can plug the lightning cable to it.

All installed and works perfectly! I left the old dongle connected to the android box cable and still have the lightening cable connected to the dongle (I just didn’t connect the lightening cable to the phone). Is that what you did?

I took off the old dongle. I only have the new one and use the wireless CarPlay for now, which works perfectly for one phone.

So things were working perfectly for about 20 mins and then the device acted like I didn’t have the wireless carplay adapter connected and said to connect the iPhone to the adapter. I restarted the phone and the box numerous times to get it back working. I even pulled the wireless dongle out and disconnected the cable to it and then reinserted it. at some point thereafter, it just started working again.

I just got mine in the mail today

Here is where I hide it. I used double side tape to put it there.

My wireless charging solution. It actually charges my phone up (even faster than the wired dongle). However, you need to make sure you buy the 7.5W iphone wireless charger (it's the maximum for iphone).

Here we go...wireless carplay

I have an issue with the sound tho. There are some cracking in the sound, like when the phone is working really hard. It's possible that I'm on iOS 13 beta 1. It's a beta testing software, so there are bugs all over the place and it makes the phone run really hard sometimes (since I installed iOS 13 beta 1, my phone was always warm using wired CarPlay).I'll wait until the next couple beta before dive into it further. Let me know if you have the same issue with the sound tho.

I'm on iOS13 beta too so that may be it. I tried my wife and daughters phones that are on iOS 12 and they work just fine. But then again, it might be my phone too. I'm going into Apple tomorrow night to have them check it out. I kept my dongle underneath the HVAC controls to if a passenger wants to use their phone on CarPlay they can with USB.

Those of you have the wireless dongle, does it automatically connect when after starting the car? Mine require that I have to going to Bluetooth settings and manuannly connect to the auto play Bluetooth every time and I already deleted previous Bluetooth with factory interface and android box interface.

It automatically connects for me a couple times while other time it doesn't. Not sure why. Need to use it more to figure out

The issue is related to network profile on my phone. Cosmo has been great with supporting me on this. I ultimately deleted all my wifi and bluetooth profile on phone to the android box and lexus factory system. Then I did a network reset on my phone. Now Carplay works consistently and automatically everytime.

**One more note** If i am using my phone as hotspot in the car, wireless car play will disconnect the hotspot as it take over the wifi on phone to connect carplay wifi..so if i want hot spot and carplay at the same time, I will have to use USB for carplay.

The audio issue is related to iOS 13 beta. I went from an iPhone with 12 that worked fine and upgraded it to 13 and now have the audio issue. It’ll get worked out.

Here's my wireless charging setup:

The charging pad is made of a matte material so my phone doesn't slide off when I'm making that hairpin turn 😅😅😅
