Yes, indeed!! In looking back over the Grom info carefully, it has what I suppose is a "CarPlay-like" interface. Apologies for not reading this carefully enough for myself. Thanks!

Not sure if Grom support CarPlay or not even though it's Android. First, If possible, you will need to be able to install an apk in Android (usually the link to download the apk come with the Carplay dongle). If Grom locks the Android, then you're out of luck (some manufacturers prevent you from installing apk and apps outside of google appstore, probably ask Grom to make sure you can install apk before purchasing). Second, not sure if it support the wide screen CarPlay natively, or just a stretch CarPlay.

Lsailt box supports CarPlay out of the box, and they make sure the dongle works well with the box since they are the maker of both. Lsailt is cheaper as well (in addition to good customer service).

If you happens to buy Grom, let us know how it is

Finally got a chance to install my unit today on my 2019 RX350 F-Sport

Everything is working great so far!

Wireless carplay peeps... are you having any issues with the unit just disconnecting from the phone? Mine keeps doing so and it’s super frustrating.

I don’t have problem using the wireless. So far it seems function smoothly. Only one problem I have: it gets disconnected when leaving my house after WiFi is switched to LTE. So usually I have to reconnect once after leaving the house and then works without any problem.

Any ideas why the wireless connection keeps dropping?

When it loses the connection, I get the screen that is the screen you see when you have clicked on carplay but don’t have the phone connected. When it’s not connected, the big Wifi logo on that connection screen shows with the little x on it. Any suggestions?

Also the wechat app blocked my account and it says I have to know someone’s phone number who uses wechat to be able to get back in?????? I just want to ask Cosmo why my device is so unstable... ugh.

Since we can’t connect with him on the AliExpress app anymore and wechat isn’t working for me, any other ideas on how to be in touch with him?

I think can contact them with email. I used a couple of times. I have David’s email

I'm having the same issue that you are having. The wireless CarPlay dongle keeps disconnecting and reconnecting like every 5 mins. When I'm using the cable it's fine.

I have reached out to Cosmo about the issue last week and he said he have replicate the issue and is working on a fix. I haven't heard back from him yet, I will reach out to him later today for any update.

I'm also having an issue where the GPS is lagging and not updating my location on time. It's like a few seconds behind.

Phew... I'm so glad I'm not alone on this issue. How'd you connect with Cosmo? I was using the AliExpress app, but that's no longer an option...

I'm using WeChat. I usually contact him around like 7PM CST, which is like 8AM for him. He's pretty responsive if you message him around that time.

Is anyone else having issues when using the phone with carplay. People on the other tell me it’s is noisy and can barely understand me.
