I just installed mine and the screen keeps going black but the music is still playing. Sometimes the CarPlay screen appears, sometimes it does not, just a black screen.
I have the wireless dongle. I cannot even get it to show the android interface.

Try holding the hang-up button for ~3sec. I can't get into the android interface through Media-AUX, but the hang-up button shortcut works for me.

you have to have the 3.5 mm jack loop-back plugged in to get to the aux in center console to have aux to android interface function. the key combination for me is Media-Aux-Map (sometimes i have do it twice). i also notice the jack makes the volume loud and clear in aux external (this fixes low volume issue in phone calls in carplay). after running the new carplay firmware for 2 days, i am happy to report the same improvement in stability, i have not experienced a connection drop yet and also noticed faster auto connect time when starting my car. one thing i notice is that it might be related my 12.3 IOS update. i have to leave the phone unlocked for it to auto connect. i remember i didn't have to do that before the IOS update.
Asking for Cosmo: anyone here has issue with the AutoPlay app get frozen even though music are still playing?
I have that issue and he wonders if it's a widesperad issue.
i have had it happen sometimes but i can get to unfreeze by disconnecting and reconnecting carplay (wireless or usb). but i read on reddit this is an issue common with carplay in general and not specific to the car or infotainment system.

Thanks for the clarification! I didn't know that this 3.5mm jack is necessary for entering android interface through aux. Cosmo told me that it is only necessary if there is volume issue when making phone call through carplay, that's why I didn't use it.

Thats why i thought too..but in my case with the plug removed it wont android from aux, i told cosmo about it and he said he will check with engineering. it doesn't bother me anyway since it is needed for my carplay play audio and music to sound better.
Any ideas on why the music is clipped? Maybe it’s cause of iOS 13 beta?
Also, for those with iOS 13, is there anyway to have the map on the main page not be Apple maps?
Ios 13 beta causes it. It got better after beta 2.
2nd question: no, not at current state of the beta. Apple might decide to add support, or may not. Developer also needs to update their apps, if apple decide to add support.
