Greetings everyone
I'm looking for a plug and play aftermarket apple carplay for the 2018 rx350, since it's a gen 9 system and the dealer doesn't have carplay available for add on.
I've looked into Beat-Sonic one but it's currently out of stock.
I want it to look as oem as possible.
Any suggestions on other companies that carry them?
Wouldn't mind having the android infotainment side, as long as there's apple carplay.

I have a beat sonic unit and my experience is as follows

Wireless CarPlay not an issue as I always need a charge

Cons only when route all through beat sonic and auxiliary input

1. phone calls through beat sonic have echo


Pros or work arounds
1. I have my pandora and phone calls linked through Lexus bluetooth- works awesome while waze is on the main screen just not talking too me
2. Drawback to the above is I don’t get waze voice directions (not really needed in my case audio turn by turn)
3. Siri works awesome with no issues at all...reads txt msgs, makes phone calls, reply’s all hands free through Bluetooth while waze is on the main screen
4. Waze works fine on the main screen while on a Bluetooth call except can’t hear turn by turn instructions since I am using Lexus bluetooth for all audio vs routing through aux via beat sonic

in summary if ya don’t need the waze directional audio voice commands then beat sonic maybe a serious consideration. I initially thought I go crazy not hearing the latest and greatest pr where next police are hanging out but in reality I don’t miss it really at all. If something is serious where I do need audio turn by turn directions I can switch over and should not be on a phone call anyways.

Does anyone know the part number for the screw on the radio? I dropped one and need to get a replacement.

I got mine from myLparts.com. As others have mentioned, you really need a magnetic head when installing or uninstalling. That bolt is a PITA.

Just remove the other screw and take it to Home Depot to find another one. Make sure you put some tape over the socket or use a magnetic socket so you don’t lose that one as well.

When my phone on carplay it jumps between my car connection and carplay connection audio for a phone call. Is anyone else having this problem or has a solution?

 

Does anyone know the code for the Lsailt Android Interface? A member here provided me with the code "1630" but that did not seem to work.
I have the newer Android 9.0 interface

 

What are you trying to route the call through? It always wants to use CarPlay and I have to switch it manually every time. No workaround for that in iOS 13

 

I'm trying to use my lexus audio and speakers. Even when i route it through lexus via the shortcut it jump to carplay mid call.

 

It really wants to use CarPlay...mine doesnt do that but sometimes if I set it to the car's BT while its ringing, it will kick it to CarPlay when the call connects.

 

I use the shortcut from IOS that should automatically set my phone to route through Bluetooth on my car when it first plugs in. But this isn't enough so im hoping someone else has a solution.

 

Yeah, it doesn’t work for calls.
