I just select the vehicles bluetooth whenever I make or accept a call. Sucks, but until there's an iOS workaround this is the only option other than using the CarPlay system for phone calls.

And throughout the call you stay on Bluetooth? Mine jump back and forth from Bluetooth to carplay mid call. my only Issue.

Hmm maybe i will try to reset all the connection to make sure. I'm going to test it without google map on car-play to see maybe if that the issue.

Here's what I wish I did before starting though.
  1. Fully trickle charge the 12V battery. By the time I was done messing around with carplay, the windows/moonroof/trunk were moving slowly.
  2. Get a magnetic 10mm socket. I went without one but I had a magnetic pickup tool.
  3. Get a magnetic pickup tool. If you drop a bolt or your socket falls into a hole, you'll hate life if you don't have one.
  4. You do NOT need to get a USB extension cable.
  5. You will want to buy a 6' flat lightning or usb cable to run to your glove box along the passenger side of the center console.
  6. Start on a Monday if you'd not good at this stuff. Then you can contact China at night.
  7. Park outside. Light helps and you can plug in your start stop button if you need to move your car.
Other tips and tricks that would've helped:
  1. Dipsticks 2, 3, and 5 are for 2016-2018 models. I had it originally set to 2, 4, 5 and it was not showing full screen.
  2. They don't configure the cable to support split screen display for you. Make sure to do this or your joystick will not work right. See post 464 on this thread.
  3. You do NOT need to remove your glove box. The beatsonic video will tell you to and they will do it themselves, but later they will retract their statement.
  4. You do NOT need to remove your shift ****. There is plenty of space. I wasn't able to remove my boot so I went around it.
thanks for the tips & tricks. My Carlinkit installation went smoothly as well. I have a 17 rx350 sport and the Lexus Nav is so dated it is unusable. Why pay for the map update yearly when you can buy this CarPlay kit for much less. Love the wireless Apple Carplay so far.

any idea how to check for Carlinkit firmware update?

I have been using this carplay wireless and wired for over a year without issues. I am impressed. I wish there is a way to easy switch between carplay and screen mirroring instead of having to switch apps. I like the fact I can easily switch between Lexus interface and carplay with the hangup button. It would be nice to have something like that for carplay/mirroring switch. It is very convenient.

Looks like the Apple Carplay and Android Auto offerings for our Gen4 RX's from Lsailt are going on sale 8/24/2020. Discounts around 22% if you were waiting for the prices to come down. I have my 10mm deep magnetic socket all ready to go.

The CarlinKit system is also slightly discounted at 9.5%..

It's the one site that's been mentioned before. They appear to have two units available for our GEN4 RX's. Here is the link to the less expensive one :
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...archweb201603_

The regular price is dropped to $390 on 8/24.

Please don't shoot me. I have read numerous posts and threads on the Apple Car Play solution for our RX. I have a 2017 RX350 F Sport with Navigation (12") screen. I want to add Apple Car play capability to my car (no need for an Android solution). Which Lsailt unit should I get? I want my passenger to be able to watch videos from my iPhone along with using Spotify or Google Maps. Please help as I am swimming in confusion. Thanks in advance for your guidance. Please just give me a link to which one I need to buy.

I am getting ready to buy a LLT-LKSS-VER7.4.5H for my Lexus RX350 2016 (with Nav and 12.3" screen) but would like to see the User Manual.....if such a beast exist.
Anyone knows where I can find the user manual for that Lsailt unit? I searched all over the internet but came up empty handed.

If you are on the Aliexpress page that shows that model from Lsailt, there is a box with "Contact" on the left side under the item pictures. If you click on that it will open a new page where you can ask a text question/conversation. I got a reply fairly quickly considering it was the weekend and the International Date Line and time zone differences...

Can I suggest Lsailt part number LLT-LKSS-VER7.4.5H I think it is the best unit for your 2017 Lexus Rx350, it include 3+ 32 Gb storage, 6 core 1.2Ghz chip and wireless CarPlay.
I just ordered 1 unit directly from Lsailt, $450 USD delivered.
