What is your RX year? Does it have factory nav? This way we can advise more specific. Thank you for your interest in VLine VL2 system for Lexus RX!
I am looking for the VLite system. AA/Carplay only system. Your new one. Its a 2017 with Nav. It is not showing available yet on your website. I have the other VLine in my other car but only use the AA/Carplay function so don't want to spend the extra on the full system. Would like to stay with the Grom for the familiarity of the system.

Got it! The VLite VT2 version for this vehicle will be available early January! Please stay tuned for our announces, at https://bit.ly/vline_interest
While my Lexus dealer and service team was unresponsive when I asked several times about the map updates and the cost, the aftermarket CARPLAY was less than the map update so I went with that option. Using the aftermarket product allows me to stop asking and keep my navigation up-to-date. IMHO, the two hour investment to install will stop this quest for new maps until the car is upgraded. Hope @GadgetGirl can gather enough information from these forums to make the best choice. They were a great help for me. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
What carplay adapter is this in the '16 I just bought?
Picked up a 2016 RX 350 today, and much to my joy I discovered a USB cable in the center console that hooks me up to wired (and also wireless) carplay and android auto and all. My big issue is I can't figure out to get back to carplay if I exit out to the Lexus menu to adjust heat settings or something of that sort. After taking the first pic I got a friend's help translating and was able to change the language to english, but still wasn't able to locate a model number or brand or anything in the menu.
Looking through the massive carplay thread on the Lexion unit, I saw a linked install video for a different unit that has an interface virtually identical to mine - the Road Top option. Its been a super nasty rainy day so I haven't gone out to test that theory, but i'm hopeful.

What aftermarket CarPlay are you referring to? How much is it? My dealer told me that a new map update is coming after February 2023, so I decided to wait. I would really like to eliminate the whole crappy Lexus system, but I haven’t found anything viable yet. The difference between the simple Chevy CarPlay & the complicated Lexus system are like night & day.
