Thank you for the information, I see it called the Multiplex Network OEM Electronic Body Control Module BCM Factory ?
this won’t effect keys, or door lock programming ?

I just wanted to bump this topic up again. I have a 2018 RX350, Canada-spec. Since I now live in the US, I found the following replacement modules for my car:
Is 89220-0E520 the one that I need (USA Dependency SPEC)? Also, is this simply plug and play? Or will key fob programming be needed? I am hoping this will be an easy swap out.

Not sure what the difference is between the Dependancy spec and normal version is. The 89220-0E540 seems like the better choice.

Lilevo,
Thanks! And yes, I agree. 89220-0E540 is the one to get. I saw that eBay listing and it states that it is an 892210E460 and a Toyota model. I will inquire with the seller to see if it is the same as the 0E540 that I need. I'll keep the group posted. I kind of want to pop this one in and see if the car will report Fahrenheit.

Alright, I figured out the part number discrepancy for the Lexus Body Control Module (MPX). For my 2018 RX350, I wanted LEXUS part 89220-0E540. The part that is being sold on eBay is TOYOTA part 892210E460 (https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...220-0e460.html).
892210E460 was designed for the Toyota Highlander, but was also placed on a 2020 RX350. Therefore, it looks like Lexus got creative during the pandemic and started repurposing microchip parts. Luckily, 892210E460 is $250-$300 cheaper as well.
I purchased the used 892210E460 from eBay and I will install it hopefully within a week. For those with pesky Celsius issues, we may have an easy solution (knock on wood).

Ok, I got the USA spec MPX module installed and we have good news and bad news. The good news is that the internal temp values are finally in Fahrenheit! 👍 The bad news is that the outside temp still reads Celsius AND the remote lock/unlock no longer works.
Here is the USA-spec MPX that I installed
And here is my original Canadian-spec MPX
I’m so glad that this was so plug and play, but I was wondering what everyone recommends to restore remote locking/unlocking. Is this something I can do with the OBD port? The key works fine to start the vehicle.
Now, all I need to do is update the gauge cluster to MPH and also get the outside temp to read Fahrenheit. Does anyone know of a good source to get this done? Is this a chip replacement job or more involved?
We are almost there! 🙌

The gauge cluster is completely separate and not connected. You would have to install a US spec cluster and then it will read F and miles instead of KMS. We can locate one for you and program your mileage into it, or you can try and locate a used cluster that is a cross-compatible match and then send it in and we can match the mileage.
Unfortunately these are all the possible part numbers for your year RX. You would have to determine which one you have now, then find the US spec equivalent for it. Different clusters for different vehicle options, etc. The dealer is usually not too helpful or knowledgeable to give you the "US" version cluster of your Canadian VIN. Sometimes the end digits are 1 or 2 off, sometimes the letter is one of two off. It's usually trial and error.

Thanks so much TaninAuto. Where is this model number located on the cluster? And is the cluster fairly easy to remove? Once I have the cluster number, could you help me select the correct US version if I provided the options and VIN as well?
I would love a plug and play option. I am confident that I will get the remote lock/unlock back after installing the US-spec body control module. I’m just waiting for my OBD2 cable to arrive. If you have any wisdom on this process, I would appreciate it. The immobilizer still works, just not the remote lock/unlock.
Also, how much is it for you to help me find me the correct gauge cluster and program the correct mileage?

Not sure on the FOBs. Probably something a dealer or locksmith would need to re-learn with whatever process that model/year has or if you had an OBD device/app/techstream on a laptop it could be done with that.
Should be on a sticker on the back of the cluster. That's step 1. We could try. Pricing depends on availability, couldn't give an estimate without narrowing down which one you need.

All credit to you, although I'm amazed that someone would take the time and expense just to change the temp reading from C to F. I'd like to be able to switch mine too, but think I''ll just stick to doubling it and adding 30 in my head

Haha! Yes, I agree. I’m a bit of an oddball, I guess. But the process certainly has been fun. I was already in the process of updating the screen to a touchscreen, so I figured what the heck… let’s try to get Fahrenheit too.
