Maybe most people still running the original brake pad & rotor. My Rav4 pad last me till 90,000 miles. Here in FL, people drive on highway 80% of the time.

My rotors are warped at 36,000. Pulsates when I press on brake pedal. I'm contemplating switching to EBC Ultimax 2. I had good results with them on a RAV4. All new pads and rotors would be about $400. I've heard good things about Akebono too.

I'm not there yet on my RX either, but used Akebono on my previous 16 IS F-Sport and was very happy with them. Actually, lots of IS owners use them and were happy. Much lower dust than OEM but stopping power was very good.

I've stuck with OEM on rotors and pads. IDK if it's them, or them combined with good tires and our advanced safety systems, but these vehicle stop amazingly well.
