My dealer told me if that happens turn the headlights on-off 5 times, that will mark a spot on the computer so that they can follow up on that with their laptop.

Default Dashboard and screen goes black and restarts?

Happy Friday everyone!

2017 F Sport with 44k. Today my wife was driving and the screen blacked out and restarted just like when you first start the car up. The part on the left of the speedometer that shows tire pressure and other info went black also. Anyone ever had this happen? Could this be the battery?

Thank you, I will bring it to the dealer. I wonder if they will replace it without being able to replicate the issue. It only happened once and we don’t drive it much. God forbid this happened out of warranty. I’m really shocked at the amount of issues I’m having with my RX as opposed to my old GS 430 with 175,000 miles that I sold which is what made me a Lexus fan. That was the real bulletproof lexus reliability. I truly don’t feel confident owning this car out of warranty.

More technology and nothing is bullet proof anymore.

Angry

The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago! It has only happened this one time at about 41K miles. It came back on after about 3 minutes.
I have the same question about replacing if they cannot replicate, luckily I purchased the Platinum warranty so I am covered for 8/100. It was worth the $2K from what I am reading about with the 2016 model year issues.

Default Information Screen Went Dark!

Today while my wife and I were driving, at 50 mph, Suddenly my entire center info screen on my dashboard, went dark- Off. After about 5 seconds it turned orange and blue and then came back on. Wow. Never saw that before. Has anyone had that happen to them?

It happened to me a couple of times and the whole unit was replaced under warranty. If it happens again turn the lights (on the stalk) off & on quickly 3 times, this will mark a spot on the computer so that the technician can find the code for the malfunction.
