Open Hood After Service
Our RX was serviced by dealer last weekend - oil change. This weekend I open the hood mainly to add washer fluid and I notice no cap on the coolant recovery tank. They were the only ones under there so I drove back as the dealer is just three miles away. They took care of things. Point being it's a good idea to open that hood every now and then.

Many years ago at another brand dealer I decided to check "under the hood" in the driveway outside the door of the service department. Low and behold, the Oil stick was black after the oil change, wiped the oil stick and pulled again and no oil was on it. They must have gone to lunch after draining the oil and thot that it had been refilled? Same dealer on a new SUV, I complained that the left front wheel assembly was bouncing like a basketball when moving. Service advised that I was not used to an SUV and that this was normal. Got home and looked under the fender and found the shock was broken in half? Another time in preparation for a trip, I decided to check the spare tire under the SUV, found "NO" spare, someone had stolen it. It pays to check around you vehicle on occasion.

I had couple bad dealer experiences my self NYC-NJ area. Ranging from dirty seats, not enough oil, trying to push to do something that was not needed, etc. Seriously thinking about doing oil changes myself.

Ugh service centers... it’s just like finding a good vet, that pay just a little bit above the standard level of attention ... sometimes you switch them every year until you find a really trustworthy one but then you stick with them for life of pet/car
