Default Air vents under the fog lights

I noticed recently that the small air vents under the fog lights on the 4th gen RX (at least on the non F Sport version) are open on the driver’s side and closed off on the passenger side. From a distance they look the same on both sides but at closer inspection they have open holes on the driver’s side and are closed off on the passenger side. Anyone has any idea why? Is there something on they driver’s side behind the bumper that needs to be cooled?

If it has a tow package there is an oil cooler behind there.

No tow package on mine. All 4th gen RXs seem to have these vents open on the diver’s side only.

True, and it's so those with the tow package get the air.
